Re: Arrow drop question.

Ok here's what I found. This Vortex has 50 moa at 10x http://www.vortexoptics.com/uploads/sub_xbr_s_25-10x44_xbr-1_moa-t.jpg The Redfield is similar. https://riflescopesinfo.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/accu-ranger-crossbow-reticle-explanation.jpg I was just trying to understand if I could adapt a cu...

Arrow drop question.

Say hypothetically, that your crossbow is shooting 300 fps with your bolt of choice.

How much drop is built into these reticles?

I understand that the he space between the aim points increases when the power is changed but I'm interested in the minimum and maximum.

Thanks,

Paul

Re: Replacement Limbs for Excal?

Okay, those ideas sound reasonable.

The bow is a Relayer Y25. I'm not sure about riser or rail length.

Replacement Limbs for Excal?

My question may seem strange but I'm interested in taking the power down a bit. There's an Excaliber for sale that doesn't have any limbs, just the stock and trigger. I believe that originally it was designed to be a 300 fps bow. I'm starting 3D archery and I think I'd like to toned down a bit but s...

Re: Shot my Brown Vixen today....

Post pics. of the set up! I bet it looks great. I was looking at those sights, but went with a scope, sounds like you really like it. How is it in low light? I don't have one of the MFO sights. Mine are the factory aperture sights that look like this> http://woodyssportinggoods.com/images/2294.JPG

Point blank range for a crossbow?

What would be considered acceptable over/under variation from the point of aim with a crossbow? 2", 3" or even 4"?

Shot my Brown Vixen today....

...and WOW!! This bow as the aperture sights and I really like them. Used one of Vixen Master's strings and it was spot on. With the arrows I was using it was zeroed for 25 yards. Bracketing the target was dead on at 30 yards. Used the bottom portion of the sight for 35 and it was a bit high. Probab...

First range session with Excalibur

Put an ad out looking for an Excalibur Vixen or Axiom recently. Problem was, I found great deals on two bows, an Axiom and an older Vixen. I couldn't make up my mind, so I bought both. Contacted some folks here and Mr. Miller to get a couple of rope cockers, stringing aid, extra string, arrows, broa...

Pack of Boltcutters short one blade.

Now the package is complete. I received my last few items from Mr. Miller. When I was assembling the broad heads, I came up one blade short. Since this was a sealed unit, shouldn't I contact Excalibur directly?

Re: String stretching and twisting.

With these bows brace height is measured from where the riser meets the rail. So if I understand correctly, if the stirrup is placed on the ground, the brace height would be decreased by twisting the string so that the string will move forward toward the riser? It would be increased with a less tig...

Re: String stretching and twisting.

Sorry, I missed this. There are a couple of things to consider. If there is a string stopper then you want a balance between bumper life and bumper effect. But at the same time you want the string to part from the arrow before the string makes solid contact with the bumpers so you want a good space...

String stretching and twisting.

I've caught some talk around about having a string stretched prior to installation. How long does this take? Also, I assume that twisting the string is to bring it back between the witness marks if it stretches beyond? This tightening if the string begs the question, are there bows that perform bett...

Well I picked up a Rhinehart 18-1 at Bass Pro this past weekend. Now once my final care package from Danny Miller arrives, I'll be ready to string up and get sighted in.
