I had the same problem with a Varizone and Danny allowed me to trade it in on a Leupold. After 3 scope failures in as many years (they were not all Excalibur) the switch to Leupold ended my scope problems!

Re: Plastic Nocks
Boo . . .my string is riding the rail pretty hard . . .I have even considered lifting it a tad, but, since my servings seem to be wearing evenly, I decided to leave it alone. Like I said . . .I've tried to blame the partial on just about everything. I do believe a lot of it was due to the thin strin...

Re: Shot Placement
Good pictures. Most lost deer are hit a little too high. . .at least mine were hit a little too high.
Keep it low.
I like that area in the middle of the lungs where all the arteries are located. Something is getting cut!

Re: Rated R
The definition of ethical changes with experience and skill level. I know a guy that shouldn't be allowed to shoot at a deer broadside at 20 yards. And I've known some that could shoot a quail out of the air with their long bows. I've taken a lot of shots that would be considered unethical to some, ...

Re: Plastic Nocks
I did recover the arrows . . .no issue with that, they fell about 2 feet short of the bag at 25 yards, just had to move a few leaves. There was some slight vane damage(not ripped off) . . .I figured the string was going under the arrow after it passed the retainer, thus pushing the back end up and f...

Re: Plastic Nocks
Those of you who have had problems with plastic, what string were u using ?? I noticed the issue when testing a string that was thinner than my normal string . . .however, it still happened with my normal string. I would think that there is less and less of a chance of a partial dry-fire as you thi...

Re: Plastic Nocks
I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but, I've had no more issues after throwing away the plastic nocks.
I liked the plastic nocks for a number of reasons.
I even talked to the manufacturer about making the ends with a grid pattern or something . . .no luck with that.

Re: Plastic Nocks
I've stopped using them. I had an issue with them being too slick or something.
Anyway, I was experiencing partial dry-fires . . .I tried to blame it on a lot of things, but, it stopped happening after I took the plastic nocks off.

Re: i hate to admitted
I've known others that have the stirrup system in a tree. They hook the stirrup above them and pull down to cock it . . .I've just heard them talk about it, never tried it or saw it . . .so be careful. They do claim it's really easy because they use their entire weight to pull. But, if it slips(fail...

I did that with a 30.06 once . . .the deer was running away from me after I had already broken it's leg and I was stalking it . . .I shot and it fell. I found a 1" piece of bone lying on the ground as I was getting ready to field dress it. The exit wound was along the neck, but, I was unable to...
