Re: Wild Game Cooking

Darn, everything you make looks absolutely delicious!
We have wild asparagus all over in our area and look forward to harvesting some every year.

You should be able to find a Evinrude e-tech somewhat reasonable, seems like nobody wants them!

Re: OT: New Toy

Congrats on the win, I have the 870 Super mag. and like DuckHunt said, when shooting the 3 1/2" shells "the punisher" is an appropriate name!

Re: This makes me wonder

I have often heard that a beagle can eventually run down a deer, if that is a fact a couple of coyote can certainly wear a deer down enough to be able to kill it. Anytime while deer hunting, I will shoot a coyote if the opportunity arises. Go for it xcaliber, a buddy and I go out on occasion and don...

Re: deer tick virus

I just mentioned permethrin because it's what I use, look up "deer tick virus", from what I'm reading it sure sounds like something you do not want to end up with, any precaution to try to prevent getting any of the diseases those little critters carry is better than doing nothing at all.

deer tick virus

Was just reading an article about another tick born disease that is showing up in PA, deer tick virus or DTV. Now it's not just Lyme disease to worry about and just a reminder to take precautions and try to prevent getting bit by a tick to begin with, It's been discussed on here many times, permethr...

Weather is not looking good for Sat. at all!
I haven't been out there in a while, it's not on my must do list but do make it there on occasion, usually during the week.

Re: I needed a twinstrike tonight!

Good that you recovered the deer! I wouldn't buy one, but did see a use for a twinstrike this year. I had just missed a buck and it ran a little and stopped still within range, WTH, can't try to grunt him back since the bow isn't loaded, stood up to cock the bow, he's still standing there, the secon...

Re: One last Swhack

I still have my buck tag with the blue tounge the deer are very scarce at this point l would be willing to shoot a nice buck with basically any broadhead that shoots straight and cuts! My buddy still has his also! Blue tongue hit our immediate local area hard. We were hunting North of there and fou...

Re: My hunting land is getting logged.

Many many times we heard the phrase "follow the chainsaws" when we hunted Maine, the new cuts were a magnet to deer for a few years, first it was the fresh tops and then the new growth, good luck!

Re: Crazy Crossbow speeds

I don't think you need to worry about that ko4nrbs, everything that was initially illegal when compounds first came out was eventually made legal! Here in PA they want the deer killed, next thing they will have a gatling gun season the way this is going!! Back on topic: Just like anything else...

Re: Is it my imagination

Here where I live in lower Carbon county, it was definitely blue tongue that devastated the heard and people were finding dead deer everywhere, where we were hunting we didn't find any. Driving back and forth to hunt we saw only a couple of road kills where there are usually a lot more, and asking t...
