Re: BOW vs GUN Kill on Deer

All other factors being equal, I've not noticed a difference in the quality of the meat between deer being killed by bow, rifle, or wife's vehicle. Big difference in price tag between bolt/broad head, rifle shell, and insurance deductible though. :)

Re: OT: A Fine & Proper SCARE!

The important question nog, how did you do offshore fishing the day of your blowout? More salmon sharks? :)

I would be a total basket case. Hopes and prayers man!!

Re: Turkey decoy distance

Usually a single hen or two hens. Position them kind of quartering towards me so they do not appear to be staring at me but the turkeys can't see their eyes as they approach. I go with about 20 yards and like to put the decoy(s) behind some light cover from me so I can still shoot a turkey near them...

Re: Petition to allow Permethrin in Canada

I use the permethrin spray when working and it does help a lot. Also helps to have clothes tucked in and I almost always have on snake gaiters or boots which help a lot also. Florida has other tick borne illnesses perhaps more than Lyme. For someone spending a lot of time in woods it's more when tha...

Re: Texas feral hogs apocalypse fears

So the guys in Texas think the old saying "better to have and not need than to need and not have" does not apply to wild hogs eh?

I think that most folks think it would be cool to have hogs, until they have them anyway. :)

Re: Hens are squatting in North Florida

It'd be cool to have a mount like that in your living room. Hen would have to be bearded though to be legal. Would probably cost a pretty penny too.

We get a few tree rats, doves, and a hog or turkey here and there. Can't stay up late enough to fool with frogs or gators any more. :)

Nearly all just gets ground with 10% beef and/or pork fat, bacon ends if available, and mix in sweet and spicy Italian sausage seasoning.
