Nice looking buck. What did he green score?

Kendo kid
We did not green score it. We very seldom score the antlers (even though I have the instructions on how to do it), we just enjoy them.

Re: Big 12 pointer

...... He phoned me just after I got home from work to see if I would help him track it. Not much of a tracking job as he took both lungs out and the deer went about 50 yards. ........... Ummmmmmmmmm I think he only wanted someone to help drag him out  . Actually I do not blame for maybe wanti...

Nice moose Tom! 8) American bald eagles? They're pretty rare around here. Or is it an osprey? That is a Bald Eagle and was taken south of Timmins. Unfortantly I read that somewhere north-west of Timmins they found (& are treating) a bald eagle which was shot by a shotgun. I hope they catch and ...

Sorry it took so long but here is the real pic of the deer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v618/GrumpyTV/Jims10point.jpg Actually, 5 days after we took the pic, I tried to place both racks together again but couldn't. The 10 point had already shrunk to the point where the 9 would not fit. That su...

Thanks for the laughs with your replys. Here is the story on the buck. IT is actually a nice ten point with a 9 point rack that fit nicely inside. There was a disscussion over which was larger  so we placed the smaller inside the other. They fit so snugly and perficly that I had to take a pictu...

Re: where

Hello Tom, I was just wondering where you went bow hunting for moose? Garry I went to area 29. There were lots of sign of moose, even had one which I should of killed  but somehow didn't. Looked for blood the next morning for over 2 1/2 hours and no sign. Too many trails on hard ground (mo...

A.W wrote:What's the white thing around it's head under the antlers?
The white rope is what we used when hanging the buck up with the block & tackle.

I will let a few others see if they can guess it correctly.

Here are a few more pics from my hunting.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v618/GrumpyTV/UncleBobsBull.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v618/GrumpyTV/BaldEagle2004.jpg The moose was from our gun hunt. We got a bull and calf. The Eagle was from my bow hunt for moose and was really nice to see up close. They are so graceful in the sky.

There's only one fly in the ointment on these arguements for wider cutting diameters. WIND! Wind will toss these arrows way off target. The faster the arrow, the more pronounced the effect of wind becomes. Other then the fact of a well designed mechanical broadhead of which will fly as true as a fi...

Silencers can help but they have a drawback, you will loose arrow speed. I think that it would average about 3-4 fps for each silencer added. In my opinion, take the speed over the noise reduction. The arrow will get there before the deer has a chance to react, unless it sees you before it hears you...

Maple any bone saw will work. I have even used those folding brush saws (but they are a pain to try to clean after :x ). My brother picked up a nice bone saw (cheap) from the local Home Hardware Store. If I remember corectly, they even had meat blades for hacksaws (stainless steal) to help keep cost...

George the trouble with an arrow is the time an arrow takes in flight to the target. the further out the target, the greater the chances the animal has in moving. With Deer, espically with them being skitish or jumpy, they react quicky with the slightist noise or movement. This is why most hunters l...
