Re: Vortex for bowfishing??

A vortex would be well suited for fishing..........for great white sharks  Seriously a vixen is more than enough for the job.

Re: How many times can you reserve a string?

Thats like asking how long is a piece of string ;-)
As long as the strands aren't broken you can keep reserving it. Or like I do, just when the string gets really tatty looking make a new one for the fun of it.

Re: Lock tite versus Leak Lock

There are a dozen different loctites you can use besides the blue one which is the forum standard now. But the main thing is don't use the "high strength" thread lock options. You always think I'll never take that off again, but crap happens

Re: Yards vs Metres

Dont go by numbers on the speed ring, just set the ring to where you hit the bullseye at that set distance and you wont go wrong. Center at 20 & speed ring at 40 or 50
Enjoy...

Re: Yards vs Metres

I'm not familiar with the tact zone scope, but from what you say it does sound like it has a speed ring. I'm very surprised by these answers you got. My excalibur/hawke/ leupold crossbow scope crosshairs were all adjusted at 20 meters and the scopes were dead accurate out to 50 meters by adjusting t...

Re: Amateur string builder questions

I agree with Comfy bear. Before getting into string-making I thought that an endless loop string with serving around the loops to protect them would last longer. But just by waxing the flemish loops, I have never broken a strand there on the loop. Where as the served loops of the endless loop string...

Re: string strand break

If its an endless loop string (standard string) yeah toss it away. If it was a reasonable flemish string with a good strand count, you could safely get more out of it if you had too by cutting the 2 loose strands out, as all strands are independent. It will not unravel under tension like an endless ...

Re: Cutting a shaft

A "chainsaw sharpening wheel" does a good job if there's someone in your area with one. A thinner wheel only cost me $3. Then just touch it up with a G5 to be sure its square. It can be adjusted to 90' . I got one on ebay for $65 . Of course its a chinese ripoff, but for the easy work its ...

Re: Increased range with 405?

Im finding the 380 is able to shoot a heavy arrow very accuratly at 55yds with less affect from wind than the smaller bows. Very accurate . But whatever speed your shooting at, the biggest variable is your own consistancy. We all know what we can hit on a good day. But can you pick up your bow right...

Re: Small Game with Matrix 380?

Don't know.. But when I hit small game with a blunt it is as though the arrow never touched a thing, just carries on. Now, if the shot is coming from an elevated position the arrow stops when it hits the ground, but the animal has no affect on the arrows need to keep pushing forward. I don't shoot ...

Re: Matrix 3d Shooter

Nice target bow.
I'd like to see a 275-300fps matrix be released. Anything higher is no good for target or 3D. Too many arrows lost from pass though & damaged fletching.

Re: Tiller Problem

Cheers for the ideas guys, I'm not working tomorrow, so I'll have some time to check over the limbs, bolts, squareness, measurements etc. From what I've already briefly checked the riser looks square, limb and rail bolts are tight. No slack in anything. I hate removing them damn limb bracket bolts. ...

Re: Tiller Problem

Yeah there is an excal dealer here Paul, but the 380 would have cost $400 more locally. Because I bought direct from the USA and not through the local dealer, I don't think he will help me. Kegbelly I thing if the limbs are out it's because different tension on each limb, I would imagine even with e...

Re: Tiller Problem

Thanks for the info guys. Its not looking good. Its about 1/8" difference when between measuring from where the bumpers normally sit near the string. I've had a good run out of the last 3 excal bows, and they're all still going well. But with the 380 I tried to avoid being ripped off the extra ...

Tiller Problem

Those of you who have had tiller issues, can you say how far was the tiller out when you noticed inaccuracy at longer distance? I received the 380 end of last year. It seemed to me one of the rubbers wasn't seated well as it looked slightly further away from the string, and sat at a very slight angl...
