Re: Any Jack Hunters out there???

There is no "official" control of bunnies other than natural predators mainly coyotes. The yote population has risen dramatically in our region the last few decades so I suspect that has a lot to do with declining bunny numbers. I remember some years back seeing images from Aus of the resu...

Re: Flemish string weavers

Thanks for the heads-up fellows, makes good sense. Dash, can we not have 3 or more bundles and good workmanship also :( ?. More surface (less voids) for serving to bite into. Would make me feel better about hunting with one, you know mind games and all. :) Good luck. Yes you can have both, If its a...

Re: Any Jack Hunters out there???

Like Pyd said, "lots of shooting with bunnies" . For me more action is what makes it so much fun. Keeps you sharp too, not much room for error. Despite shooting more often, for me its cheaper as I can use blunts and not be paying out for expensive broadheads.

Re: Any Jack Hunters out there???

Could it be virus/disease control maybe ??? It was first Myxomatosis that thinned the rabbits out over here originally, although most rabbits are resistant to it here now. In more recent years its the khaleesi virus that knocked rabbit numbers back down, after it was introduced by the government tha...

Re: Flemish string weavers

There's a big difference in the construction of a braided rope and a well made flemish string Fern, I understand your thinking but its like comparing apples and oranges. Hi Fuzzy, Your string is unround because it wasn't great workmanship, not because it was 2 bundle. I used think the same, that mor...

Re: Matrix 380 - What are you shooting?

Usually I would readjust sights for fixed blades if needed, or at least know what the difference in POI is. With schwackers I have no issues though, hit the same as my field point.

Re: Stringing aid
I've never worn out a rope cocker, btw.
I've worn through a few threads when the tube first wore through, but changed the tube and string before any chance of it snapping. I do give it a hiding checking every string I make.

Re: Matrix 380 - What are you shooting?

I bought a very large number of Beman lightning bolt shafts when they were cheap. They have 100gr brass inserts and luminoks. I cut them down to 18" to use with the 380. Using 125gr shwackers and Luminoks they weigh in at 475gr each, and shoot beautifully.

It was +104f here yesterday, but luckier than my mate over the east of Aussie who's town hit a state record this year of 123f.
Maybe we can do an exchange of about 70f and we'll all be better off

Re: How do you find your arrow after the shot?

I don't lose arrows target shooting anymore. If on your own property you can use a detector, but good luck at an archery course. I spent 1 1/2 hrs pulling years of lost tips/insert/arrows out of the ground once, but still didn't see my bolt  But hunting is harder. Yeah the Luminoks help in most...

Re: Stringing aid

I can't take credit for that. I think it was Boo mentioned serving the stringing aid on the forum a long time back. Its works well to serve the stringing aid as long as don't use it every day. While I was making a lot of strings, I used to mount every string on the bow just to double check measureme...

Re: Stringing aid

Unlike your bow string the aid has no serving to protect it. So its just to stop damage where the trigger contacts the stringing aid. Otherwise if the stringing aid wears a bit, it could snap and dryfire.
