Great scope. Use one most every day. The lighted reticule is very nice.

Quote:" so you have to fire an arrow to uncock." I shoot both an Excal and a bow that has an auto safety. The auto safety failed me just once: the first time I cocked the bow and didn't pull back far enough. Recocking cured the problem. Actually that bow can be released without shooting. I...

I initially chose them for their 4-bladed construction, Alcatraz lockup and small size. (The three bladed Thunderheads were planing badly, I missed two deer). I find the 100 gr 1 and 1/8" version gives me same point of impact as my target bolts, awesome penetration, sizable exit wound and there...

I thought it was unusual when I nearly hit one while on my snowmobile...until one bounded just in front of me while I was X country skiing down a hill! Finally, one did manage to get me by coming through my truck windshield.

I've done numerous trigger jobs on guns. This is unlikely to be fixed by shooting. I have to take up the slack in the trigger before it starts to disengage. After that the pull isn't smooth with several ragged spots before it releases. The release point is a measured 3.5 lbs, that's less a issue tha...

Trigger pull/Equinox

I find the trigger on my new Equinox annoying at best. It is ragged (jerky) until releasing at 3.5 lbs, with a relatively long take-up. It also has considerabel creep before even starting the release. The latter I've compensated for by taking up the slack (WITH THE SAFETY ON) prior to starting the t...

Lately there has been a trend toward lighter factory and safer triggers (on rifles). Savage produces their Acu Trigger which has a special block that prevents the trigger from releasing until it's depressed, making the release itself much lighter. Ruger just announced a new adjustable trigger. Even ...

Tried taking up the slack on my Equinox trigger (on safe) before firing. BIG difference. Trigger slack is gone, much more consistant pull and I can predict the break. Thanks for the tip Sumner.

I only hope it isn't made by BSA! Would not have bought mine had I known. The first and last BSA red dot I bought had a wondering dot...moved with each shot of a .22 pistol. That explains why the ocular bell FELL OFF my neighbor's new Lumi Zone after just half dozen shots.

My new Equinox trigger is not noteworthy either. Way too much travel and hesitation. I can shoot it but have to concentrate hard tp prevent jerking. The trigger on my Parker Terminator, by comparison, is smooth and has short takeup more like that of my firearms. It's the only thing that detracts fro...

I shoot and Equinox and a Parker Terminator. The Terminator is 150 lb draw but generates 320 fps, the Equinox is 225 draw to get 350. IMO the extra 30 fps just isn't worth it. Equinox is accurate and simple but louder, much harder to cock and, being wider, not as well balanced or handy in tight plac...

Got the Excal Equinox. Shoots as good as it looks. Stryker must shoot 3 times more accurately ... if price is any indicator.

Last time it happened, I moved on the turkey. Sneaked real slow (took me about 45 minutes to walk 200 yards), I stayed just behind the crest of a hill, stopped often and made like a hen while doing so. When I got within 100 yards of where I last heard the gobble, I set up and stopped calling ...
