Re: Hunting Camera

So, I have had the same question I have been dealing with - as well as a few others - range finder, night vision for yotes, etc. I pulled the trigger recently on the ATN X Sight II to try to kill all the birds with one stone. It is on back order so hopefully will get here by early November. Cannot ...

Re: rain and deer

Depends on the amount of rain. If it is a steady light rain I have noticed it doesn't really bother them....in fact they seem to move earlier in the day when its light rain. Down pours with wind....definitely seems to affect them.

New Jersey Bear Hunt

Here they go again!! The media is blasting the recent bow bear hunt because one of the local bears that people liked seeing walk on his hind legs "might" have been killed. Did they ever think that the bear might have been suffering because his front paws were injured forcing him to walk on...

Re: Journaling

I keep my hunting journal in a spreadsheet. I have columns for Date, Hunt Time, Stand Location, Weather Conditions, Wind Direction, Temperature, Number of Bucks, Number of Does, and Notes about the hunt. I have logged every hunt for the last 15 years. It allows me to go back and see activity based o...

Re: Thoughts on wrapping the stirrup in paracord?+checkingSc

I just did both my Micro 335 and M380 this week. (Thanks Pickwick for the help). Put a layer of tennis racket tape and then the paracord over it. I initially had the problem on my micro that the broadheads wouldn't clear so I had to redo it. I had the knots on top but when I move the knots to the si...

Re: Evercalm

I used a drag rag with Tinks on it and walked across my stands 25 yards out. I had a doe come slowly in, followed by a massive 8 point. When she hit the drag line she really got spooked. She kept coming but went on high alert. She walked by me and was standing 15 yards past my stand. As the 8 point ...
