Re: Just had a visit from the MNR
The biologist said and it makes sense, that hunting cannot get rid of established hogs but traps can. He said the "Pig Brig" was currently the best trap. He also said that Colorado got rid of their pigs by trapping. Interesting stuff! Because trapping is more effective when the hogs are n...

Re: GRZ2 QUERY- WILL A TTT WORK ON THE BOW?
Does the original trigger seem to negatively effect the accuracy of the bow? Are you having trouble hitting the bullseye? Is the current trigger remotely likely to cost you a deer (or bear) this or any season? If the answer is no, relax and look forward to the wonderful season you are about to have....

Re: NJ bear season
Since I'm over 65 and a Missouri resident, I don't need a license for fishing (except trout) or small game. When I had to buy a license it was good for the current calendar year. I don't remember being upset because I had to buy a new license to keep hunting until most of the upland seasons closed o...

I hope you shoot every one of them! I'm sure they're fun to hunt but they are so destructive.

I'm confused. The post seems to be about broadhead alignment but the device at the Amazon website seems to be for detecting deviation from straightness on the shaft.

What a frigging disaster! Looks like a tornado went thru. Hunting property owner had his 90 selective cut. Man they really opened it up. But the junk trees they just left layn around, its a massive mess. To make matters worse. We got to move all our stands. They came right to the tree the stands in...

Re: Welcome to license/permit/tag/stamp season.
I spent $10 to apply for a Missouri elk tag and I was not one of the five who were drawn. Other than that, as a landowner with more than 75 acres I get 4 archery deer tags, two archery turkey tags, three firearms deer tags and two firearms turkey tags - all at no charge. It's good to be a landowner ...

Re: Who Misses The Old Bows
Speed seems to be what sells crossbows these days and Excalibur wants to stay in business so they are building faster bows. I just want enough power to put arrows through deer at 30 yards in a bow that is reliable, accurate not too heavy and well balanced. Every Excalibur probably fits this formula....

Heading to a barbecue later with a bunch of other vaccinated folks. Later we'll all go to a fireworks display. I love this holiday and it's nice to get back to something near normal!

Re: Sharp useful cutting tools review
I have a couple of Case XX stainless leather handled hunting knives that I keep razor sharp with a Japanese water stone. Neither of them has touched a deer in a few years. My extra large Swiss army knife ( I'm not sure if it's a Wenger or Victorinox - it's at the farm right now and I'm not) is all I...

In addition to being delicious, cherries are a natural anti-inflammatory. That means that those of us with arthritis need not feel guilty about that second piece of cherry pie!

Re: Total State Shut down
First of all - the trail camera ban seems ridiculous. Trail cameras don't give hunters any significant advantage, they are just a tool to assess what is present in a given area. Banning them just takes some enjoyment from people who use them while having little or no effect on game harvests. I'm not...

He has the look of an energetic boy. He's going to bring a little trouble and a lot of fun! In general, I prefer dogs to people. I never get to know a dog that I don't like.
