Re: 50 Caliber wads

Thank you for the help everyone. I found a place in Ontario. Pretty interesting that wads are rarely used under a sabot or ball but anyone who shoots a lot and tries it notices an increase of accuracy.

Re: Shim Scope

I think you're running into the primary complaint I have for many of the variable power crossbow scopes on the market. Most of them aren't made for the speeds of our hunting arrows. The Overwatch bottoms out at 300fps, like many others. With a 425gr arrow, I'm guessing your arrow is flying somewher...

Re: Shim Scope

The arrow weight and resulting speeds effect the scope settings so you cannot rely on those numbers on the "speed ring". Zero the scope at 20 yards with the center crosshairs. Ignore the numbers on the speed ring. Next set up 2 targets, one on top of the other and have an aiming point like...

Re: Shim Scope

What weight arrow are you using and can you zero the scope at 20 yards. Can you provide a link to the scope you're using?

50 Caliber wads

Does anyone know where I can find unlubricated 50 caliber wool wads in Canada? I want to put them between the sabot and the powder. Any leads would be appreciated!

Re: Going out hunting this afternoon.

Congratulations to your brother! It's been warm here too! Very few deer showing up during legal hours. It looks like the last day of this month will be below freezing. Even the northern waterfowl haven't come down. This weather stinks! Fortunately a doe went down during muzzleloader season and we ha...

Re: Fletchings for Firebolts

I like to use the extreme helical that an Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt gives but I know that 1.5 degrees works. The bigger the broadhead, the more you want an extreme helical or more offset. If you want some Blazers, send me an email with your shipping info and I'll be happy to send you a good number of t...

Blazers. You might be able to straighten them with a hairdryer.

Matt, it really is a bummer for this year but at least you don't have work getting in the way of hunting all the time!

Re: C2 crank hook broke

If you look at the grooves that you get from where the hooks ride against the rail, you’ll see that all hooks are capable of breaking. I saw that on a couple of
My rope cockers and I called up Excalibur and replaced a bunch of them with the new and improved ones
