Re: Micro 355 Stock Quill/150 gr Field point SPEED?
340 would work, just remember that once you get it sighted in whatever the speed ring says doesn’t mean that’s the actual speed! If you want the actual speed you will need to shoot through a chronograph Yes understood thank you, not going to worry about the speed just accuracy and consistency. :D Gi...

Re: Matrix string stretch?
I didn’t know they made them shorter. That kinda negates the simplicity of changing a string in the field because the new string CANNOT immediately be adjusted within specs. This would make the recurve technology and theory defunct. I guess its covered here for what its worth. I guess if I change a...

Re: New broadhead target. Arrows stuck.
Arrow gripper wouldn’t budge arrows. Wood block and a few taps with the hammer and they came out covered with melted plastic. Easy to scrape off. Might just use the foam block for sighting broadheads. (Btw, Boltcutters aren’t grouping like field points—maybe test multiple arrows to find the one (ju...

Re: Bolt keeper position
The retainer should be lined up with the arrow channel. Mine sits above the groove with about an eighth inch clearance. The arrow should stay no matter how much you try to shake it or swing the bow around.

Re: New broadhead target. Arrows stuck.
Best thing you could do Mark, is remove the arrow graphics. I had the same problem till I removed them with acetone.Montana Mark wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:39 pmI’ll try a block of wood on the nock and a tap with a hammer to break the weld. Got an arrow gripper also.

Re: New Kind of Hunting Today
Good shootin. My dog and I made a great team when I was a kid. He kept them in the tree while I nailed them with my wrist rocket. Fifty cents a hide back then. It was an easy way to pay for ammo for the .22 and shot gun.

No wraps for me either. They are a horror to remove. I'm slowly but surely removing all my wraps.

He can turn this into a learning experience for others. Can you get some pics? The grosser the better. Like others said, I hope he fully heals and isn't soured on crossbows. Wish him the best for us.

Re: I have made my decision on my first crossbow
Congrats on your choice. The most important thing you need before you even shoot your bow for the first time is a stringing aid so that you can adjust your string to maintain brace height. Measure from the R.E.D.s about 1/8" to 1/4". Made a mark on the side of your rail with a Sharpie. Th...

Re: Crossbows
I actually like Excaliber's price point compared to the compound xbows out there. When you see a Tenpoint or Ravin sell for over 2000 the prices here don't worry me. I looked at the price of replacement strings for those bows- ouch compared to recurves. Then the rate at the local bow shop is 15-20 ...
