My season is done - Updated!
Getting old i guess. Took a nasty fall down a ravine on Oct 01 and it has now officially ended my 2021 season. Somehow my knee become infected and went septic. Now on IV antibiotics to be followed by surgery. Hopefully will be able to do some ice fishing when the time comes. Good luck to all of you ...

Re: What is the best ever made Excalibur-crossbow and why? (Your personal opinion.)
I agree their is no one model in a way. As long as the model is in a 380 Matrix. Lynx or Mad Max, never had a realtree model, but I'm sure vit would work as good as the ones I prefer. Prefer is just a choice, but the 380 is right in the middle of the sweet spot, not to fast not to slow not to wide ...

Re: What's a snow camo (Lynx) 380 Matrix worth?
Great bow, probably not terribly inflated it as there aren't a lot floating around for sale... But it would have been cheaper a couple months ago. Definately paying the "in season" tax. Kinda one of those thing where it's marginally rare, so it's really worth what your willing to pay. Per...

Re: Most powerful recurve crossbow that can be rope cocked?
Did you try rope cocking the 400 yet? I am mid fifties and 5' 9" tall and have a Mega 405 and my brother-in-law has a 400. No problem rope caulking either. Wouldn't want to do it 10X in row fast or anything but 3 or 4 times to check the scope zero is no problem. Sorry, Chris bought a 400 Suppr...

Re: Most powerful recurve crossbow that can be rope cocked?
Matrix 380, fairly easy to cock, and very hard hitting. Yep, that or the bulldog380 are probably the best options if you want fast, reliable and rope cockable. Did you try rope cocking the 400 yet? I am mid fifties and 5' 9" tall and have a Mega 405 and my brother-in-law has a 400. No problem ...

Re: Bear advise.
I have only taken one bear with a crossbow and that was just happenstance as was hunting deer at the time but had a bear tag and we crossed paths. Have taken many with the rifle though and all but one at typical crossbow range (20 to 30 yards) so i think the methods apply. If using a ground blind do...
