Re: Stand theft prevention

The only anti-theft method that is 100% is to carry it in and out with you. They can't steal what isn't there.

Re: Staying warm while hunting (sitting)

As mentioned earlier good socks are important. Wool then alpaca, then Buffalo, and then musk ox. A thin polypropylene wicking sock is really important as well. Keeping your feet dry is critical. I have a pair of Buffalo wool socks that helped. Also, make sure that your shoes aren't too tight. On the...

Re: Fletching jig

I use the G5ASD to square the shafts and the AZ-EZ fletch 4 degree right offset for aluminum arrows. (Link below) I have fletched everything from Bhoning Blazers to 4" feathers and lots of others in between using Loctite super glue gel. Never a problem. If it gets gummed up from the glue a shor...

Re: Vortex Crossfire scope

Anything Vortex makes is going to be first class. Warranty and customer service is better than most Brad This. I have a pair of their binoculars and a scope from them. I'm not crazy about the end caps on the binos but they do the job. I also have one of their monoculars coming for use in the archer...

Re: Exomax "Major Screw Up"

It threw the string off hitting me in the face with no injuries. The bow looks ok but has a small splinter appear on one of the limbs about 1 3/4" long. It is very shallow and did not grow after I restrung the bow and shot it well over 50 times. Dacron string is ok. Splinter The scope required...

Re: My homemade vanilla killer recipe

I would give it a go but it is illegal here in Mass for both deer and bear. Our baiting laws are pretty broad: "BAITING OF DEER is prohibited during any deer season and any bait made available to deer must be removed 10 days prior to the opening of the first day of archery deer season. Bait inc...

I have read some reports of EHD in Ohio, SE Kentucky, and even in lower Connecticut.

Where are you located? It isn't listed in your profile?

Re: Is this going overboard?

Same here. I don't bother with it much these days. You will never beat a deer's nose. It has more surface area than a dogs nose and it also has a Vomeronasal Gland which allows them to "taste" the air. Hunt the wind and it isn't an issue.

Re: ??? Spitfire Shooters ???

Spitfire maxx are currently 4 for $35 at Dick's with $10 rebate & free shippimg I have been shooting them out of my Exocet for many years. No bands. They have always performed perfectly and they have the $10.00 rebate every fall which makes the price right as well. It is generally a one and don...

Re: Shoot Stick

I use a Stoney Point Monopod.

It works well as a walking stick on the way in and then I use it as a support for my crossbow when hunting.

Re: Gameplan gear backtrack case

I don't have that either but I have the Leech Treestand pack, now discontinued, and I found it to be well made. I wanted to extend the bedroll straps to hold my cold weather jumpsuit so I called them to purchase the correct buckles. They shipped out the buckles and strap material I needed that after...
