Mico 335 Nightmare limb spintering
Hi everyone, Yesterday I had my Micro 335 cocked, and I heard one of the limbs begin to splinter. I was able to de-cock the bow before it snapped, luckily, and of course I have contacted Excalibur about the issue. Just wondering if any of you have ever had a sudden limb failure like this. It's a Gen...

Re: 2019 Excaliburs
If I were an engineer designing crossbows, I'd always be trying to make a faster, smaller, lighter bow as much for the challenge as for the end result. If I were in the business of selling those bows, I'd feel pressure to keep upping the speed just to stay competitive. But as a user of crossbows, I ...

Re: New Guy -bolt question
I use 16" Black Eagle Executioners on both my M330 and my Micro 335. They fly great. No problems. Lots of food in the freezer. I had issues with 18" Diablos, which was unfortunate because I bought a lot of them before figuring out they weren't grouping well for me.

Re: POLL ,narrowing down my choice BD330 or BD380 but i need some answer's.
I can't say enough good things about my 330. Excellent bow, easy to cock, knocks down HUGE wild boar like a champ, accurate, trim, does the dishes… shall I go on? There haven't been any cases when the extra few fps would have made the difference. Speed is no replacement for practice and knowing when...

Spooky axis deer reaction time
For those of you unfamiliar with the species, axis deer hail from the Indian subcontinent but have been introduced in Texas and Hawaii. Adult does hover around 100 pounds, and big bucks can get up around 200. They are reddish-brown in color and retain white spots throughout their lifetime, and they ...

Re: HELP! Dry fired my vortex!
My bow recently had a partial dry fire when the string came disengaged from the limb while shooting. There was a bolt in the bow, which is probably what saved my limbs. Best I can guess is that one of the string eyes had stretched out and I hadn't noticed it. Just my two cents, but I wouldn't reuse ...

Re: new to cross bows
Body mechanics is critical to effortless cocking. A lot of newbies try to cock by just using their arms. This will make even a light bow difficult. I think there are some YouTube vids out there on how to cock properly. Anyway, it's a full body motion, incorporating your legs and spine, and even a li...

Re: new to cross bows
I would second the Matrix Bulldog 330 for general, all around use. The 330 is easy to cock for long practice sessions, plenty of power and speed for just about anything you'd want to hunt, pinpoint accurate, and plenty compact. If you're particularly small-framed, then maybe you should start with th...

Partial Dry Fire Mystery
Hi everyone! I haven't posted for a while. I have a mystery I'm hoping you all can help me shed some light on. I took my M330 out for the first time in probably 6 months and I wanted to make sure it was all tuned up and sighted in. The string had stretched a little, as per normal, so I adjusted the ...

Re: Thoughts on 308 Short
Smart move with the camouflage, Excalibur. And all this time I thought it was to make me less visible to deer. But are there any camouflage tricks so she won't notice the $700 coming out of our account?

Re: Thoughts on 308 Short
I appreciate all your thoughts. My micro is a gen 2, so no modifications there. Actually, the issue for me isn't cocking—I find the 335 Micro reasonable and the M330 I could shoot all day. I'm more interested in the bow being compact, and I wonder how noticeable the size difference is between the 30...

Thoughts on 308 Short
Hi Everyone, Just curious about people's thoughts on the 308 Short. I live FAAAAAAR away from anywhere I could try one. I'm specifically interested in whether the smaller size is really all that noticeable compared to the Micro 335, which is my current go-to crossbow. I also have a Matrix 330. Small...

Re: Amsteel
I realize this post is a month old, but I thought I'd weigh in. I made a string changer using Amsteel 7/64". It's plenty strong. The issue with it, though, is that it doesn't hold knots well (wasn't made to). I would be careful on a rope cocker to measure the length you need, bury the ends as i...

Re: New Micro Brace Height
I contacted Excalibur about a week ago about the same thing. They said about 1/4" off the bumper is about right. Apparently, it is better to err on the side of too high than too low for the sake of limb longevity.
