Don't think I'd eat one that had been poisoned, but if you want to shoot 'em sportin'-like then you might want to try this method of disposing of them. Sure beats wastin' the little critters. French Fried Skunk 2 Skunks, skinned and cleaned 1 tb Salt Water to cover 2 c Bear fat or lard 2 Egg yolks, ...

A very good presentation of facts!
I'll be waiting to hear of the final decision on the issue, and certainly hope it's to permit the crossbow as archery!

I've been shooting bows for close to 50 years now. Started with a kid's longbow "kit" (bow, string, side quiver, and PO cedar arrows). After a few years I got fairly good with it. I also have shot a few recurves over the years. I've killed about every game animal here in Ohio, and a few th...

A few deer calls for sale

I've been trying a few new woods for my grunt calls, and decided it's time to sell a few. I only have one of each in stock, and the camo is already spoken for. Price is $34.95 each + shipping & handling. In the US that's $4.95 for each order shipped USPS priority, and to Canada it's actual posta...

I usually take bow (Exocet), arrows, knife, rangefinder, & cellphone.
BTW - here in Ohio it is illegal to carry a handgun when bowhunting even if you have a concealed carry permit!

Gary L. Just remember I'm the one who told you about the sudden relapse "I'm just to feeble to gut & drag the deer" trick  We could invite my huntin' buddy who we nicknamed the camo mule to go with us. He has earned the name more than once, but at least I had the deer gutted for h...

Gary L., Good to see you're able to be at the computer again. I hoped the approach of deer season would get you up and moving  Now just remember the deer hunting routine - walk in to stand, cock & load the crossbow, shoot a nice big deer, then have a sudden relapse and ask someone to gut &...

Terry1, Good pics! I transfer the pics from the WalMart CD to my (ArcSoft) photo program and the quality is much better. It seem the quality is ok on the images on the CD, it's just that their (WalMart's) photo software is lousy. Here's a recent pic - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v125/wabi1/mom...

Charles, I started out with a Vixen (mag tip limbs in the black finish) when the minimum arrow weight was still 350 grains. The best velocity I got out of it was in the low 270s. I hunted with it one season and killed the 2 deer limit with ease. I stepped up to an Exocet, and hunted last year with 2...

Looks like a very good picture. I just bought a "stealthcam" and I'm getting good pics, but the processing cost is adding up. it wouldn't take too much film & processing to pay for a digital. Got some pics from it today. Here's one: (take note of the squirrel in the foreground on the l...

George, I'm not clear on all the answers, but I'll try to help. 1) broadhead blades: must be 7/8 inches wide or wider. Must be unbarbed etc. A lot of choices here, but I like SlickTrick & G-5 Montec 2) No scope,, best sights available? If red dot sights are legal, a Horton or TenPoint with multi...

Bored of hunting? NEVER!!!!!!!! Bored with killing game, not really bored, but don't do it frequently! But, the kill isn't all there is to the hunt. Just being able to "count coup" on the quarry is frequently enough for me. I've passed up countless shots because I had no need for the meat,...
