Re: Excellent chair for turkey hunting

Good to hear that others like this as much as I do. I have dozed off on many occasions in this chair. Sleeping while hunting is an underrated tactic, after all, you can't get more still than that. Hunting is supposed to be fun and this has helped me to be more comfortable and also more successful wh...

Excellent chair for turkey hunting

Just got the new cabelas sale flyer and saw that they have the gobbler lounger on sale for 24.99. Item # 04271802. I highly recommend this as you will sit very low to the ground behind your camo netting set about 3 feet in front of you and you will be extremely comfortable. Patience is one of the mo...

Re: The Close Shot

Paul Thanks for bringing some science into the discussion. I know from experience, albeit just from the Vertical compound bow, that it is all about the trajectory of the arrow. For a shot one yard away from me, I would use my 40 or 30 yard pin (depending on the speed of my bow)to hit dead on. If I u...

Re: The Close Shot

Yes, practice will confirm it for you. It seems counterintuitive, however, using the longest yardage pin on your vertical bow or a long yardage crosshair (say 40 yards) on your crossbow should do the trick for you for those shots that are right below you or right next to you.

Re: The Close Shot

With a vertical compound bow, shooting a little slower; use your longest distance pin. This is due to the path of the arrow, starting out lower, then raising up until dropping at distance to hit the target. Visualize this and it will make sense. It is the same if you are up in a tree or on the groun...

MSA Safety WorksModel # 10103487 Internet # 202984422 Clear Adjustable Face Shield The above Home Depot face shield is similar to what I used. I took the face shield off and attached the camera mount using tie wraps to the top band that goes across the outside head band. It is super light weight and...

Re: DIY iPod mount (Experimental)

I am planning to use an Ion Air Pro 2 this season. Considered mounting it to the crossbow, however, based on seeing videos from other bow mounted action cameras, decided to try something else. The problems that I see with bow mounted units are 1) you are limited to following the subject by the movem...

Ion Air Pro 2

Finally got the action camera that I got for Christmas out yesterday to test it. Went for a hike with my wife in a large park in the suburbs of Rochester,NY - called Mendon Ponds. The camera was purchased from BJs for $89 (retail a few years ago was $299). This camera came with a helmet mount, small...

Re: 2015 Deer Season Review (Video)

Great video. I just got an airpro2 for Chrstmas and will be taking videos with it. What software do you recommend for editing. Any advice is appreciated as I want to be ready to do some videos of the hunting season this fall.

Re: Wyvern creations

Bought my Matrix and Hawke scope from him as well as bolts and stringer and c2. Excellent service and price.
Also later bought a Matrix case from him. He could have charged me full price for the case, however, he told me that he just put them on sale a few days earlier and charged me only $49.

This: Bad blood trails" generally translates to poor hits in my mind, although this is not always the case. Or someone has unrealistic expectations as to what a good blood trail is. and This: When its all said n done even a field point low in the heart /lung area pass-thru will have a decent b...

Check out the carbon express quad pro 100 grain 1" fixed. These are sharp, accurate and trust me, they will go through deer. No need to spend a fortune on highly advertised brands, these work and cost less than $15 for 3. You can buy online from Walmart and pick up at a local store, free shippi...

Re: Butt-Out tool and gut hook

I am in the old school, keep it simple camp. Use a small Kershaw folder. When working on the back end, I cut around and free things up. I make sure to tie off with a knot using plastic surveyor tape, so it keeps everything together when I pull it out from the front. My knife has a bright orange hand...
