I posted a fix for this problem a while back when the charger Ext crank came out last year. Lube crank string with wax. Then guide the string back and fourth on to the spool when cranking it. Similar to a fishing reel. Do this a few times to give the string new memory. This has worked well for me. I...

I have a Dr. Stirrup on my 380BD. And I love it! Although I don't seem to need to use it much after getting a charger crank aid. I had the same popping noise from my charger ext.
I lubed the string with some wax. And then guided the string on to the spool with my free hand.
I did this a dozen times or so.
Now the string goes on to the spool just like when I guided it.

NO MORE NOISE!! :thumbup:
