Re: Alberta Inclusion Debate

Actually Lefty is one of the better ones there Tom. He has come out on several occasions and stated he is not against crossbow use, but simply prefers that it stay classed as it is. That being allowable use during general (rifle) seasons with a few very specific primitive weapons openings and of cou...

Alberta Inclusion Debate

As most here know, I applied for & received a Crossbow Permit over in Alberta this fall. They require one to be " disabled " (HATE that term!) in order to get this permit and hunt in their general archery seasons. This fall, some Wildlife Regs are under re-consideration in Alberta. Amo...

Re: luminated scopes

... Wouldn't even want a scope without the Firedot reticle or illumination. I concur 100%!! Won't have a scope that doesn't offer this function. For all the reasons noted above. Currently rather pleased with the Hawke XB 30 Compact. Run the blue lighting more than the red myself. Makes a great cont...

Re: Reflections on the 2015 Hunting Season...

... look on the bright side. If you're anything like me, now you can get to all those neglected chores that were put aside for hunting. You gotta pay in order to play. That's EXACTLY what SHE said!! How about coyotes in your area? No coyotes on the Island. Never has been. Closest we get is wo...

Reflections on the 2015 Hunting Season...

December 10th marks the end date of our Island Blacktail season. Wrote this partially last night to capture the thoughts I had then, finished today. Warning - it is a tad lengthy... As I watched the light slowly fade slowly away on this, the last day of the 2015 hunting season, I reflected with bitt...

Getting Ready To Roll Again...

Due to the cold weather, we decided to put our mainland archery hunts off for a week this year. Hoping that doesn't turn out to be a mistake! Weather has warmed alright - probably too damn much and the snow is apparently disappearing rapidly :( But my Bowhunting Partner has been seeing a few Mulies ...

Re: Executioners vs. Zombies

Originally had Big John work me up some .001 Executioners for the Matrix 380. They shot very well, right out to 100 yards. Next go, I simply wanted to try something different, and went with .001 Zombies. They do shoot a little better at the longer ranges. Either will work Just Fine for Hunting purpo...

Re: Boltcutter broadheads

... My area were i hunt is very thick n dense and a big blood trail is necesecary to aid in not losing a deer . I tried the Boltcutters, and left them behind for the same reason. The blood trail from the mechanical 125 grain Spitfires I use is way beyond comparison. I'll be sticking with those. Che...

Sorry to learn of your situation Hi5! Guess there is nothing they can do for that at this stage? You're right, I'll stop the whining - it definitely could be worse! ... I enjoyed reading about your hunting adventures, and I don't want you to quit writing about them. As do I my Friend, as do I! :wink...

Re: NAP Spitfire Information

Boltcutters are a solid head. No worries about their performance. They are tough, and fly the same as FP's out of my Micro 335 with Quills. They are indeed. Flew like field points from my Ibex, ExoMag and Matrix 380. And Tough! Most could well be sharpened (or blades replaced) and used again in my ...
