Re: Hen beating up on my new DSD hen decoy {vid}
Thanks. It's happened twice since, and in different areas. She hasn't sustained any major damage, although the eyes aren't as /shiny/glossy as they use to be....they seem to go for the eyes first. They're a bit pricey, but I've gotten more reaction/interaction from both hens and toms from it than an...

Re: Blind Set up for turkey
Turkeys, unlike deer, are not at all "blind shy". Given your situation, if the birds are coming to the open field to feed, then I would set the pop up in the open field. I guarantee they will not be spooked by it all of a sudden being there. They will pay no attention to it. Set your decoy...

Re: Hello
Welcome from a Central Michigan newbie, here.......Looks like were gonna be learning this Excal/turkey thing together this spring. I've already learned the importance of keeping ones finger off the rail during the shot. Feels so good once it stops hurting. After 90 some days the fingernail is pretty...

Re: Trail Cam Comparison
I'm a fan of the homebrews myself. Reliable, great pics, no more expensive than a mid priced commercial cam, and there's always great people building cams as a hobby and more than willing to help, just for the asking..... All of the pics in my signature link below are taken with homebrews. Feel free...

Re: turkey season only weeks away"'''
Hopefully this will help. Recommended aim points for arrows. One pic not shown is facing away and fanned. In that scenario aim for the anus area where the large tail feathers meet. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e327/michiganbowbender/shot_1.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e327/michiganbowb...

Re: photo contest: open for voting
I've looked at all the pics off and on for most of the day trying to decide. I had it narrowed to 4, then 3. My last two choices were finally down to Catcher and Boo.
Boo, you're probably the last person who could use another crossbow........but you're the man. You have my vote.

You can never do it too soon, about to do the same things myself. At least you're under 200 days. I can add about 14 to that here, Oct 1st. Looking forward to giving the Vortex a thorough testing......

Well, these arrows should be easier to find
My first attempt at making my own, and I wanted something that would stand out in the fall leaf or snow cover. Not sure if I wanted blazers or 4 inch vanes but once I remove the inserts, add the Firenocks and shoot them, I should be able to form an opinion. Think Ischa might like em ?? :) http://i42...
