Re: Quivers. On or off or other?
I leave the quiver on when walking in but it comes off as soon as I get set up in the stand, and I stick it in my pack so my arrows are within quick and easy reach should I need a 2nd one.

Re: Yet another broad head "I need opinion" post
My hunting buddy uses the Rage crossbow heads, he's happy with them and has killed a few deer with them since he switched from vertical to xbow a few years ago. He shoots the practice head in the backyard then switches to the real deal to hunt. He shoots a 425 grain arrow at about 350 fps and they d...

Re: Hunting Knives
I'll admit I don't know a lot about knives or knife steel either but I've been doing a lot of research lately, and I just bought a Buck (yeah, a crappy Buck) Open Season #537RWS large fixed blade skinner with S30V steel and for $70 this is a pretty nice knife and ridiculously sharp right out of the ...

Browning ground blinds
This is not a sales pitch, just wanted to pass along what I thought was a good deal if anyone is looking for a good ground blind. Last week my wife and I went out loafing, there's a couple of thrift stores she likes to go to and one of them usually has a fair selection of sporting goods and outdoors...

Re: crazy compact crossbow
I don't know, I think you can go too far trying for short and compact. That almost looks like a crossbow pistol, seems like it would be real twitchy and hard to shoot accurately without a very solid rest. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'll pass.

Re: Bass Pro is acquiring Cabelas
Personally I hate to see this happen. We have a Cabelas locally and I love the store, I could spend at least $10K every time I walk in there  The few BPS stores I've been in were nice but much of there stuff seemed way overpriced. Not that Cabelas is cheap, but they don't seem as high as BPS in...

Re: Older Excalibur Bows
I started with a 200-lb draw Exomag. Several years later when I got the M380 I opted to keep ol' faithful as a backup. The 380 has been utterly reliable and I haven't needed the Exo as a backup, but my buddy did. He hunted with it a few weeks after his wheeled bow exploded in the back of his truck a...

Re: M335 LImb tips
I noticed the same thing on my M380, it looked like cracks were starting to appear at both joints. I sent pics to Peter, he said sometimes a little excess glue squeezes out and then the camo is applied over the limbs and tips and also the excess glue. What you're seeing is cracks in the camo finish ...

Re: shooting chronographs
I've had a Pro Chrono Digital for a few years and have been super happy with it. I've used it a lot with my crossbows and even more extensively while developing/testing handloads for several calibers. Only time I've had any issues is when the sun is at an extreme angle like at sunrise or sunset. I d...

Re: Leupold Alumina flip covers
I've got the Aluminas on two different rifles, they're the best covers out there IMO. A little pricey but you only buy them once. Butler Creeks are ok, I have some of them too but I've broken more of them than I can count.
