Re: Cerra coating
there are re-finishers that take short cuts so do your homework.ive had quite a few items tefloned and its slick and fairly durable for sure!ive had parts powder coated and find it prone to chipping and dings. i always wondered if youd be better off just adjusting the string/serving thickness or shi...

Re: Question on limb straps
interesting they made those spacers longer. i remember the old shoulder bolts that limited torque on the recoil plates. the allen heads were very prone to stripping on those . i always liked the full thread screws snugged up and then backed off a little. always thought too tight choking limbs off at...

Re: I want to go bear hunting
do your homework and understand your expectations. many places you will end up with just an expensive camping trip if your not careful.in this day and age with trail cams so cheap id look for an outfitter that has active sites and logs to prove things. ask how far apart the sites are. they say 5 mil...

Re: Can I use longer bolts?
ive shot stiffer 20 inch zombies in my Matrix model 405.i would check for accuracy though.on the other side. if your arrows are too short it can create a condition that the arrow is not long enough to be within the foot stirup area. it will allow you to put your foot in the stirup with an arrow stil...

Re: Scope manufactures
Leupold is easy to find on the web. its the other makers i find harder to find. i spent a while looking for the scope made for the bear crossbows reticle made by hawke. i will say you need to try them in the field, for instance i wanted to like the Nikon crossbow scope but i found with my eyes the c...

Re: Exomax Rail
not sure about your brand of nocks but some of the lighted nocks have tiny wire leads poking out that if you dont align them it wil rub the rail.maybe see if you have any wire leads poking out of the plastic.

Re: Trophy Rocks
spring is the time they start to use them. cant hurt putting it out early. in my area month of May through August sees the most visits.plain old solar salt from the big stores is the cheapest route. doubt youd grow antlers without genetics and nutrition. fancy minerals in a bag is nice but i think y...

Re: Lock and load
depends on the hunt and situation.i mostly leave the gun or bow unloaded til i get to the area im hunting.in my job safety class you learn to take out the hazard then you eliminate the risks. with the crossbow i figure walking to my stand with a cocked bow i should have time to get an arrow out of t...

Re: Assassin String advice
at that price $1600 id get in touch with warranty and send it back. no way id wanna polish or expect to polish anything. ive purchased many danny miller strings and shot them including on all my heavy hitters with no issues so i doubt the string is a lemon as you also tried another one and did the s...

Re: Excalibur Micro 355 opinions
if you want 355fps the Suppressor wont get you there. its about the same as my Gen 1 335. about 340 fps./-343ish i never herd anyone report on a 355 micro with a 350 grain quill getting 355fps. maybe someone could report on theres.the reason i kept the gen 1 micro over the suppressor is the simple d...

Re: Bare shaft tuning
i use to buy spine matched arrows but dont worry for hunting distances with my quills hitting well .i have an idea and always wondered of a new model Excal that the riser gap only allowed for 2 fletch up and down to pass. would allow for limbs to be closer together and compact. add in a rail that ha...
