Re: Insert Glue
I use the Locktite super glue on my inserts and fletching. It's worked great for my needs.

Re: Making a crossbow fish arrow
I want to try this myself, but hadn't even thought about how destructive my Matrix would be on the equipment. A super heavy bolt would slow things down, but it would penetrate concrete

Re: Making a crossbow fish arrow
I've wondered for years why there weren't crossbow fishing rigs. Or then again, maybe there is and I just didn't know it.

Re: this is the DEADLIEST braadhead made!!!
I'm so good, I only hunt with fieldpoints. With a perfect shot, they just drop on the spot. Actually I agree with the others that feel shot placement is more important than the type of broadhead. In the past I've been quick to blame lost animals or long trailing jobs on poor broadhead perform...

Re: Bear?
I normally just give them a smack on the rear end and they run off. :D Most of the black bears I've ran into take off once they smell or see you. A "shoo bear" will send them packing. A sow and cubs can be very different though. I once had two cubs run up a tree while momma just stood ther...

Re: Redfield Revenge Review!
So if I'm understanding u right this scope has a built in range finder ? That would be handy for shure for folks like me who can't judge distance. What kind of price tag does it have? It's similar to the system Redfield had out years ago. I never carried for it. It depends upon knowing the actual s...

Re: Treestand Safety
A couple of years ago the bottom broke loose on my climber. I was able to grab on to the upper half, but would have still been in rough shape with no safety harness. With the harness on I was able to let go of the upper and get a secure grip on the tree. From there I carefully unhooked the harness a...

Bingo. They make refleching a breeze.xcaliber wrote:I use the shrink on type because they do make it easier to find the arrow, or bolt, and when you have to strip off the vanes for a redo, it's a snap, and no lumpy glue residue to clean off.. Oh, they look real nice too!

The arrow will be more stable at 20yds than 10. That can affect penetration. [/quote]
Very true. With any arrow or bolt you'll reach a point where as you get closer you'll get less penetration.

Re: Noisy arrow holder?
Shrink tubing never lasted too long on the prong on TM Hunter type rests on vertical bows for me either. I found the Teflon slip on ends lasted much better. But again maybe the horizontal bow rest created more friction. I'll grab some tubing at Lowes today and give it a shot.

Re: Noisy arrow holder?
Evidently there's less friction there than I thought then. I've used shrink tubing on various cables and it usually wears through fairly quickly.Boo wrote:Heat shrink does not wear out quickly.

Noisy arrow holder?
I've been looking for a way to quiet down the arrow holder and get rid of the metallic clink when it slaps the rail. I'd think shrink tubing would wear out fairly quickly. Any better ideas than shrink tubing or mole skin?

Re: Matrix 355 vs Vortex chrono results
I agree on both points about limbs and chrono's. That's why I use two. However the Matrix 355 does make advertised speed. The 380, not so much. Big John John, YOUR 355 and some others may makes advertised speed. Mine, evidently Milan's, and I'm sure others do not. I've never complained about...
