Any noticeable effect on perceived recoil from that new stock angle?

Re: Cock, lock & load!!!!!

I haven't had a dry fire yet, but I did almost join the "decock a bolt into the top of my boot club" last season.

Re: Camo pic

Wait, there's no way you could have hid back in 1978. Why the latest and greatest camo patterns weren't even developed then!

Re: Buck I am after!

I'd be tickled pink with him now, but hopefully next year his rack will have a little more width to go with the height.

Re: tree saddle

I bought one but ended up selling it after one hunting trip. I found the saddle very uncomfortable after a couple hours. I had foot pegs, watched the video, read the reviews, etc., but it just didn't work for me. I also found out that I tended to fidget around more than I do in a standard tree stand.

Pretty dumb cop in my opinion. Dragging a dead body into your home is most likely going to leave a trail of blood, hair, etc. showing the crime scene has been tampered with.

Re: excalibur storage

"None of my compounds have this recommendation". I'd say that's because they require a press to relax the limbs which would put more work/expense on the average user. I remove the string from mine mainly because Excalibur recommends it.

Re: OT I need some advice.

I agree the 308 with the correct bullet is plenty. If I just wanted to buy a elk rifle, I'd probably buy a 300 Win.

How well do wraps hold up?

I used wraps for years with my vertical bow, but am wondering how they hold up with the friction off the crossbow rail. I know I see a lot of folks on here using them, but it would seem to me that they'd wear though fairly quickly.

Re: Anyone using Leupold LR duplex?

I thought about the parallax issue, but thought it wouldn't be a big issue hunting wise. I know the normal rifle scope to me is pretty much unusable for target shooting rimfires at 25 and 50 yards due to parallax, but really isn't an issue as far as varmint or squirrel accuracy. I thought about taki...

Anyone using Leupold LR duplex?

I was looking at the Leupold VX-1 and VX-2 2-7x33mm's and saw the LR duplex reticle. It looks like it might just the ticket if the dots will dial in for crossbow speeds. Has anyone tried one or currently using it?

Re: purchasing a cross bow for the first time

I went with the Vortex. It had plenty of power for the hunting I do and it was a little easier to cock and a tad more quiet. I'd also been told it would have a longer string life. The lower price was just an added bonus.

I don't think it's the mount, but I'll loosen everything up and retighten and give it a try tomorrow.
