Re: hard to make a good shoot at 50 yards

Are you shooting from a solid benchrest or offhanded? If you can't decent groups from a sold rest, then it may be problems with your bolts, heads, etc. If you trying to get good groups standing up off handed at 50 yards, then just you may have exceeded your limits at this point.

Re: which one???

I can order either at cost, but I went with the Excocet for my own use. It's not as loud, easier on servings, and it's plenty fast enough for my needs.

Re: it's jerky time.........

O.K. I'll be the sissy in the group with my question. What about killing bacteria? I've read unless jerky is heated to 140 degrees, bacteria isn't killed off.

Is this normal? (New Exocet and flemish string)

My Exocet came in today and I put a new Excalibur flemish string. The loose ends have frayed from the stress of shooting. Do I need to burn the ends or is this fraying normal and no threat to the integrity of the string?

Re: Excalibur's Warranty

In addition to the five year warranty, it states "proof of purchase" must be provided.

Re: Excalibur's Warranty

The brochure that is linked on the home page of this site says the limited lifetime warranty is for the duration of the original ownership. However, I'm pretty sure there have been discussions of second and third owners having warranty work done on their bows. Excalibur is very fair. The instructio...

Question on power needs

I'm totally new to crossbows so sorry if I'm asking a stupid question. Would there be any advantages to a slower crossbow over one of the faster Excalibur models? I know with standard bows speed often comes at a price of less forgiveness. I'd want this crossbow for hunting whitetails. Are the slower...
