Re: old forum members never die, they just fade away......
I've been a member of this forum and its various reincarnations since 1999. If you aren't happy with the current style, you would have absolutely hated the original. :P I browse it just about every day, but rarely post any more. It seems that the same questions and topics come up in some shape or fo...

Re: OFAH members?
As much as the OFAH has had a very prominent voice regarding the gun registry, I think that the CSSA has done a far better job and has been a much louder voice. I'm a member of both. But, if I had to choose one, it would be the CSSA, hands down. I totally agree with you on that. I am a member of bo...

Re: OFAH members?
Are there any OFAH members here? What are the advantages of being an OFAH member? Is the biggest perk really being able to say that you are insured when you are asking permission to hunt new land? Is it worth the money? Look no farther than the owners of this board - Excalibur. I believe they have ...

Re: How long have you owned your Thermacell?
Off topic, but in the latest Ont. Out of Doors, there is an ad for a product called Insect Defend Patch. I have seen it in the local Walmart. It is a stick on patch that is supposed to be good for 36 hours of insect protection using Thiamine (B1) and your body's chemistry. Supposed to be waterproof ...

Re: Butcher block
The only problem when you build something like that is making the first mark into the surface. Even though it will gain character with use, that first cut is always the deepest. Sounds like a song!

Re: new baby on the way
i had to go to the nook in london today so we ordered a pink vixen for my daughter .the guys say they don't know when they will be in but there has not been a lot of interest just yet. If used for other than for target shooting, wouldn't a pink bow dispel the current mindset of needing camo for hun...

Re: CELLPHONE FOR HUNTERS
That's worked for me before too. The trick is to get the battery out quickly. We have also had luck using the blow dryer. Sometimes it takes a couple of days. I have a old razor . . .can't kill it . . .I left it's twin in the woods once . . .in silent mode . . .no cure for stupid. More than o...

Re: Im starting to hate General Firearm season
Im seriously considering renting 1000 acres with a friend and managing it so no one gets in there. Im getting to the point where im afraid to walk in the woods in certain places. You just dont know who is in the woods So why do you think that having your own land would make things any different tha...

Most people familiar with the Savage ML10 are aware of the rocky relationship between Toby Bridges and Savage. While he was very good at testing their products, he was also what many considered to be a loose canon, someone that continually pushed the envelope of what was considered by Savage to be s...

This is more fall out from 9/11. As noted, this law only affects the sender in the USA. Canada Customs does not enforce US law, and once the scope clears the border, our customs dept. is most concerned about collecting tax on the value of the scope. The same is true of ammo. Current US law forbids n...
