Re: Axiom speed
my "slow" exocet 165 will stick a 400 grain arrow into the ground far enough after going though a deer that it can be hard to find in the underbrush . Rated at 270fps and probably shooting slower than that . An axiom shooting in the 290s will be more than enough for any deer unfortunate en...

Re: Any interest in an Excalibur 'Macro'
I doubt I will ever own a matrix bow .They are a step backwards imo in terms of reliability and ease of use . The draw weights are much to high and I can't stand thumbhole stocks especially with a rear mounted safety . if they release a crossbow with less than a 200lb draw a traditional stock and al...

Re: Truglo Red Dot Failure! Advice Needed
You can put a magnifier behind most good red dot sights . An eotech 512 crossbow sight with a magnifier would work well . For bow hunting ranges I have never felt magnification to be much use and I use mine without .

I meant what were you hunting with them . That seems a bit overkill for deer .

Re: Questions ?
I really enjoy shooting my carved tipped Excaliburs .I shoot about a 410gr arrow and they are very smooth . Also being able to cock them by hand is a plus when hunting . If my rope gets left in the truck or worse at home I can still hunt . Its faster without a rope if a second shot it needed quickly...

Re: New quiver for my exocet 165
My exocet rail measures 18 3/8" . It has a manual safety ,carved tip limbs , cast riser ,large foot stirrup ,rope cocker grove ,the stock is set up for the crank and the rail is tall height . It was sold as an exocet 165 . Maybe a 175 ? although I thought that the 175s had milled straight riser...

Re: New quiver for my exocet 165
I was just searching rail length on the Exocet165 and saw it discussed in my own thread  I must have missed it . My rail is just shy of 18 3/8th inches . I was curious as have only seen black rail exocet 165s . Mine has a manual safety ,large stirrup ,rope cocker grove , the stock is set up for...

Re: Destroyin Yellowjacket Bag Targets
Would a rag bag target stuffed with the yellow jacket guts hold up any better ? you could compress it and maybe add some more material . Must take a heck of a target to stop a 405 at 20 yards .

Re: excalibur rope cocker fraying
Fraying is typically caused by friction so I doubt it's a strength issue. My guess is it's rubbing against something that's not as smooth as it should be.I would check carefully for any fine burrs or rough edges. I've been using the same rope cocker since 2006 with absolutely no problems. The frayi...

Re: excalibur rope cocker fraying
The hooks and their rollers are free of burs and debris . Yes i use it hooks down each time . Paracord is to thin to fit properly , I have some us made 550 and it is about half the diameter of the rope on the cocking aid . I also looked over my Danny Miller stringing aid and it is wearing were the l...
