Re: polishing trigger latches ?

I would not bother going to excal for the latches. My micro eats serving like a pothead would shred a bag of dorritos. I get about 120 shots before I don't trust the serving using both DM flemish, and factory strings on a Micro 335. Based off my recent experience. Excal will either #1: Tell you to s...

Re: Crossbow vs.Compound Bow.

I got so sick of something always needing tweaking or adjusting on my vertical bow. I was not willing to accept the 10yard limitation my abilities with a recurve provide me, so I bought the best recurve crossbow I could. I'm perfectly capable of drawing a vert bow. I see very little difference betwe...

Re: Unstring Micro335

Got it! I do have the stringer set to just enough to remove my string. If I'm understanding this right, having the stringer set up like this should give me enough travel to relax the limbs. I would like to send a few string sets out for re-serving, including the one on the bow. It would be nice to s...

Unstring Micro335

Has anyone unstrung their Micro? I do not believe I could do it. Once I have the stringer set where it will compress the limbs enough to remove the string, I doubt there is enough string to let the tension off the limbs. Been considering leaving mine unstrung if I know I will not be shooting it for ...

Re: scope question

Sorry to waste everyone's time. I just thought some more about it. I think I need to re-sight the scope in with the speed dial set back on like 400 or 410fps.

The scope just adjusts magnification positive or negative from where ever its zeroed if I'm thinking about it right.

scope question

Here's the scoop: Dead zone scope. 1. Sight in 2. Remove from ADF to send latch in 3. Re-install. Scope holds zero 4. Remove scope to install new trigger assembly (diff story) 5. Re-install scope onto ADF on trigger #2 6. 20 yards holds zero, but I now need to turn the compensation ring 180 degrees ...

Re: Matrix 330 string stretching

Almost sounds like you have the wrong string.

I got a matrix string instead of a micro string once. I imagine if I twisted it 40 turns it might start to fit...

Re: Did Excalibur sell out to ten point

Doubtful, I hope not. I'm not too keen on them being bought out by Bowtech, or whatever investment firm owns Bowtech.

Re: Rail Tip.... to help save string serving wear.

I was recently advised by the same source to NOT use any wax or lube on the serving and rail. That the string/serving would polish the rail and latches as you shoot.

Re: OT: Struck A Win For Men Today!

Congrats on 7 years!

I cannot come up with words to describe the tremendous amazement of the fact a woman actually forgot an anniversary. If I were you I'd be very cautious that it was a test. If it was, you passed with flying colors. I would have failed miserably...

Re: NAP Spitfire Information

I've popped 3 deer this year with bolt cutters. One head was used for 2 deer, possibly the third, but I lost track. Boltcutters are a solid head. No worries about their performance. They are tough, and fly the same as FP's out of my Micro 335 with Quills. The spitfire head is also a solid BH. It may...

Re: How far is too far?

Here's the answer to that concern. Hopefully, the energy factor can be laid to rest by reviewing the ballistics. We'll use my xbow(405) and my arrows (398g Zombies) as an example. My initial speed is 383'/sec, avg arrow speed loss per 10 yds is 3.7'/sec. Velocity lost by 100 yds is appx 37'/sec lea...

Re: How far is too far?

One thing I've not heard mentioned is the amount of energy your arrow has left after traveling 80 yards. I'd say much past 40 yards and you are lacking in the energy department to have good confidence of an arrow penetrating a deer consistently. Remember, crossbow speeds are a bit faster than Vert b...

Excal Rope cocker

When do you guys replace your excal rope cockers?

I have about 450 cycles on my rope cocker. The hooks are wearing out where they rub the rail. Wondering how far they can wear before they will break?

Thanks,

Brian
