Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)

Ahhh....Ok, then correct it does not have that. I will need to look for one then. Do you recommend a certain one? Yeah, I am happy with the purchase. I wanted the newer model, but as a first timer, figured get this, save the $$ and invest in arrows and eventually a better scope. The scope it has se...

Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)

If you do not have string stops installed you should get some. I recommend the Rubber Baby Bumpers (string stops) made by Dan Miller at Horizontal Archery. He does not do internet but his phone is 740-483-2312. He has real good oprices and has everything for all the Excalibur bows. If you would lik...

Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)

Which model did you get? As mentioned above, stringing aid and a spare string are the only must haves . If your model does not have a Guardian Anti dry fire, I'd be getting one of those too. Regarding sighting it in, use a soft rest to get you zeroed, either by traditional "zeroing" or ha...

Re: Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)

A stringing aid is a must have for sure, I would also buy an extra string and carry it along in the field. I sight mine in using a front and rear rest just like a rifle, no need to buy a lead sled! Already came with the extra string and I believe a stringing aid. I may not have captured it here. Re...

Excalibur purchase!! Next steps? :)

Finally got an Excalibur and ready to sight it in. Wanted to ask what other accessories and/or items I may want to put on my Christmas wish list? I got this deal for about $360. I tried to post a photo, but for some reason is not showing up??. Choice was between this or a newer model for $100 more. ...

Re: Advice/Feedback on 2 crossbows I am thinking of buying. Which one?

Just a thought..... The best "Bargain" on the crossbow market right now is a Bowtech/Stryker Offspring. They can be had new online for less than 4 bills. That's the whole kit, scope, arrows, rope cocker ,quiver. They are a joint venture between Excalibur and Bowtech. They are a compound b...

Re: Advice/Feedback on 2 crossbows I am thinking of buying. Which one?

@georgiaboy - same questions as I asked Xcaliber, what is the thought for the grizzly? Just because it is a tad faster? The question I struggling with if the little bit of speed doesn't gain me that much, I could use the $100 for other accessories. Welcome to the forum  You can’t go wrong with...

Re: Advice/Feedback on 2 crossbows I am thinking of buying. Which one?

@xcaliber - Is that because it is newer? Or can you tell me why you would go that way? Being new, I was just thinking I could use the money I save toward a better scope or more arrows, etc.

@xcaliber - Thanks. Yes I had been in touch with him but I didn't want to low ball him as my wife wants it to stay within a certain budget. :) I guess I could always make an offer and see what happens.

Advice/Feedback on 2 crossbows I am thinking of buying. Which one?

Maybe this is a better forum to post in? I had this in the Trading post, but that may not be the right forum. Howdy folks, I am new to crossbows and have narrowed my selection to 2 crossbows. I am debating which of 2 crossbows to purchase and would like some feedback. The difference in price is Opti...
