Re: lighted knock question
I'm new to all this crossbow stuff but I learn and adapt like a Velociraptor. I lost several monster racks this season in my learning curve. Cabelas makes this reflective trail marker spray stuff that ain't a forever thing. The other stuff goes on and stays great for me so far this first crossbow se...

Re: lighted knock question
I found a couple of strips of reflective tape or reflective paint to be a far more dependable and effective solution. It really sucks if the lights don't work or your arrow snaps. http://www.clevertraining.com/albedo-100-reflective-spray-permanent-4-6oz?CAWELAID=120018820000111293&CAGPSPN=pla&am...

Re: Tree Bolts
I use the cheap screw in tree steps on clearance from tractor supply and leave them in the tree forever.

Re: Thinking about the New Grizzly
The Grizzly is as good as it needs to be and very accurate for me. I bought it because I wanted to tryout crossbows. If I could do it again, I would buy the Matrix 330 so you are over 300fps regardless of bolt weight. I think the added bonus for either of these is to install a Nikon Bolt scope and u...

Re: Hitting Thumb
Goodluck with your test quest. I'm a shooter that has the habit of holding my barrel down so I took the following measure to reduce damage at my age. I wear a fish fillet glove religiously. I haven't had a problem adjusting to the crossbow but its my insurance. http://www.cabelas.com/product/CABELAS...

Re: Letting Them Walk
Just my two cents on the "newbie" subject. Shoot what you can for practice. An accurate first time crossbow in the hands of a lifetime rifle hunter can have a hell of a learning curve. One can be real cocky at first thinking you just put them crosshairs behind the shoulder and squeezing of...

You might find the Grizzly with Diablos and these VPA's to be just what the doctor ordered.

Re: Baiting
What kinda vegetation do y'all northern folk find common as a licking or chewing branch?
I've found all over the south, the Bucks love to use Yaupon Holly, I've come to firmly believe because it contains caffeine. I think its the only north american plant that does.

Re: Baiting
I don't necessarily agree with baiting DEER either, Its the standard in some locations. I use it for entertainment value mostly with added nutrition for them. I NEVER use corn other than the pieces embeded in the blocks. My goal is to ween them off the blocks, and onto me carrying a chunk in my back...

Re: Baiting
You folks have to try record rack blocks, its like crack. The longer it stays by burying it like I said, the more dumbfounding it is. If you don't bury it, they will roll it all over hell's creation. They will stomp a huge crater out but its hard for them to roll the block up out of it. If you bury ...
