Re: Re-serve or let it go?

I plan to build the jig, however in the meantime I have a pair of D Miller Flemish strings on the way. Between those, the 2 stock strings and a serving jig I should be good for a while.

Re: Re-serve or let it go?

Well crap... The warranty string I received is much too long. The serving is definitely in poor condition and needs fixed. I took the string off the bow and its pretty rough. I also calculated the number of shots based off my average session and it has closer to 250 shots. I had the latches polished...

Re: Re-serve or let it go?

I kinda thought the same. The string looks better in the pics than in person. Think I'll put the new string on tonight and let it start to stretch. I used to serve my vert bows myself with pretty good luck. Is it about the same deal to do it your self, or is it cheap enough to bring or send the stri...

Re: F up hard tonight

Think of it as paying the dues...

I paid hard last year. This year I'm afraid I'm starting to border on taking out a loan...

Stay after it!

Micro Doe

Shot a nice doe last night with the new micro. Starting to like this thing more and more. Nothing like watching the blur of blazer vanes disappear into the boiler room. Used the same arrow as the previous deer, just re-fletched it a couple hours before sending it through another...LOL http://www.mic...

Re-serve or let it go?

Here's two photos of my serving. There are probably 300+ shots on it. Its a stock excal string. I'm on the fence. This is my first crossbow so I don't have much exp. I have a new string I think I'm gonna put on and shoot in before this weekend, but not real sure how many shots one can typically get ...

Re: scouting with cameras

Never could justify the cost. Plus for me, I think it takes some of the mystery /excitement out of the hunt. I kinda like to be surprised at what I see.

My brother used to run cams alot and I think it just spooked deer.

Re: Changing where I aim on a deer.

Wreck the front end gears and they ain't gonna go far. I think is more of a coincidence that both dropped. Even if they all don't drop, deer hit like that just don't go far.
Btw: Nice work on the deer.

Re: BROADHEADS

Ran a boltcutter through a young buck this past weekend. Very pleased. Also flies exactly like my FP with the stock set up in my sig.

I say boltcutter, but you certainly will get great performance from a slicktrick.

Re: Speculation thread on the limbs breaking....

One thing to keep in mind is that Excalibur is no longer truly Excalibur. Excalibur is now owned by Norwest Equity partners. http://nep.com/connect/news/norwest-equity-partners-portfolio-company-bowtech-acquires-excalibur-crossbow/ I really wish good companies like Excalibur could find ways to stay ...

Re: FOC verses boltcutter

Sounds to me like your on the way to your answer.

My personal opinion would lead me to a slicktrick or boltcutter.

It depends alot on your bow if it will shoot either style of head without fussing around.

Good luck!
