Re: Power stroke/Draw lenght

He is wrong. You cannot redefine the definition of "draw length". He is most assuredly confusing "draw length" for "power stroke". An industry is built on the terms, definitions and other lexicon generally used in archery. AMO describes definitions not the Ontario MNR....

Re: Price and availability on matrix 330

For what it's worth, I had felt the definition of draw length in the 2014 Ontario Hunting Regs to be ambiguous so contacted the MNR via their web page and was informed that in the field they measure the draw length on a crossbow from the string at rest to the string fully cocked (i.e., same as power...

Re: Power stroke/Draw lenght

I just got off the phone with 'Chris' at the MNR. He confirmed that the measurement is from the string at rest where it crosses the deck to the string when fully cocked. I explained that this would make bows like the Excalibur 330 not qualify for big game in Ontario while less powerful bows would qu...

I have not looked into nor inquired about regulations in other provinces and territories of Canada. 2) Wh...

Re: Power stroke/Draw lenght

The draw length of a crossbow is measured along the bolt ramp (where the bolt rests) from outer edge of the main limb, to the anchor point (release latch mechanism) at full draw. This was taken from the OHEP "Ontario Hunter Education Program" website. The ambiguities in that text is exact...

Re: Power stroke/Draw lenght

I'm looking at an Excalibur crossbow for my first bow hunt this fall and had the same question regarding whether or not the Matrix 330 met the requirements for Ontario. Sent an inquiry to the MNR and the following is the response I just just received today (Spoiler alert: Short answer is 'no'). Hell...
