Re: Which heated vest??

Havn't looked at the heated vests but I'm guessing they are not cheap. I'd think for similar money you could get into some Sitka clothing. All I have at the moment is the duck oven coat but I've heard their fanatic series is even warmer and the DO is stupid warm and light weight. If ya watch end of ...

Re: Buck lure

I don't use anything anymore but when I did it was James Valley. I just followed the intructions and I'll be damned if it didn't work just as described. Was like the deer were reading the script, if I really cared anymore I would have full confidience in it today.

Re: Saddle Hunting

My best friend just did his first two hunts from one. He is very very impressed, he puts it on before he leaves camp so all he is carrying is three ladder sections and bow. Said he is up the tree in minutes and very comfortable. A couple of things he says the foot platform is a must ( doesn't have t...

Re: To pee or not to pee

I have always just let it fly right from my stand. Hasn't deterred deer from walking right under it. Yep, and playing the wind is crucial!  I would agree with that for sure Word of caution Number 2 should never ever  be considered while still in the stand. Not only could it be...

Re: Rain, Rain, and more rain.

I'm not sure how it would work but it has to be better than draggin a deer threw the muck. Or you could bone it out where in fall and take acouple backpack loads out. I would chose the second.

Re: opening day delay

I totally agree with your reasoning. Our season has been open since 9/15 and, though I'm retired and can hunt all I want to, I've just gone out 3 mornings. Our high temps. have been mostly 85 - 90 degrees and the woods is like a jungle. I'm 70 yrs. old and this is the hottest Sept. I can remember. ...

Re: Dont trash that old hang on stand

Looks good spent many hours in stands like that with a chain and a turnbuckle around the tree. Unfortunately 35 yrs later only one of my butt cheeks will fit on them little seats, ladder stands and blinds for me now.

Re: Exo Bull

It is a sweet bull. For some reason when I dream of a moose hunt it's always in Alaska. How is the population in Ontario, I've never checked into it. How's the availability of tags and ground to hunt on and I guess most importantly how's the cost of a guided hunt compaired to Alaska? Never even con...

Re: Exo Bull

I believe it but not familiar with the older bows, whats the story on the equipment used and hunt details are always good. One of my bucket list hunts the other is brown bear. But got a feeling I'll be six foot deep in the bucket dreaming of them. God forbid I'd get a terminal illness but if it happ...
