Re: Tough season so far!
Thanks AJ! Im use to being hurt because I work with my hands and have done so for 30+ yrs but this year has been especially hard. Between the two injuries I have been hurt most of the year and about July I found out the 7 acres I hunt was going up for sale. So I had to pull the cameras, feeder and s...

Re: Tough season so far!
This hasn't been a great hunting season for me. I have been hurt since July and it has made sitting painful. So up until recently I didn't think I would be able to hunt at all. My first day out was last Tues didn't see anything The next was Fri and I saw 4 deer, which was great. I normally don't see...

Re: The Kid doing his Euro Mount
I do euro mounts for myself in a similar manner. I get the head when I drop the deer at the processors. I have a cable in the woods and I tie it from a tree and around the rack. I don't skin it or anything. I check it every month or so. In a couple of months it's spotless. No hide, no flesh. If I do...

Re: Is this REALLY a crossbow???
Torsion crossbow technology is new. However, it utilizes similar draw weight and component types as most legal compound crossbows on the market today. Each state defines its own laws regulating equipment during each hunting season. While many states that allow crossbow hunting do not have laws that ...

We heated with wood for years. We have lots of poplar and red oak in my area.
Stihl or Husqvarna would be my choice. I runs Stihls for all my small gas tools

Re: Salt on old wounds
That is an excellent buck!! ...and now you know the rest of the story. I took a shot at a really big buck 2-3 years ago and couldn't believe I missed. I looked for blood and the buck didn't run like he'd been hit. I looked and looked but never found him. So I don't know what happened to him. I think...

Maybe, I would have liked to have made it in 2019 but couldn't get it lined out. We'll see how the year pans out

Re: Morning or afternoon hunts
I prefer sitting in the morning because I love seeing the woods wake up and identifying and tracking deer is much easier I also struggle with "...am I leaving too soon?" but I tend to hint more in the afternoon. If I hunt in the morning I come up and eat some grits and sausage and then tak...

Re: BC Proposal to BAN Scopes on Crossbows
I spent two hours the other day trying to help a neighbor who made a bad shot on a nice buck. He was using a vertical compound at about 30 yards. We never recovered that deer. I believe he is still alive and I have him on camera. Now whether he survives until next year waits to be seen. I believe so...
