Axiom Rail

In the quest for a quieter xbow I was going to put foam in the rail but the rail on my Axiom is solid, not hollow, and I see no way to put anything inside it. The way it looks to me, there is no way it is going to vibrate anyway. My rail appears to be a composite, but I understand some are aluminum....

Re: Flashlight

Do a search for Thrunite brand and Neutral White light. Just be aware the neutral white light will magnify haze. Copied from an old post: Any quality led in Neutral White will give true color and red blood shows up like magic. Till recently all led lights were cool white, which cast a blue green to ...

RAG STUFFED TARGET

I am looking for just the bag target to stuff with my own rags, something big like the Morell 30 inches square. I must be using the wrong search terms.

Re: Loud equinox

What are "dr stririp db killers"? If it is tape, are you covering the limbs or just using a strip on the front of the limb? Are you using the "stick on" velcro? The loop side or the fuzzy side? Foam in the rail???? How about spraying foam insulation into the rail? Light, weather ...

Re: Loud equinox

Had a deer jump the string, BUT, I was resting the bow on the top rail of my tree stand/house. Top rail was connected to 4x6 plywood side and, I believe the plywood side acted like a sounding board. I now use a sand bag between stand and bow. I believe in string bumpers and wrapping the stirrup and ...

Carbon VS Aluminum Shaft

Rank amateur with an Axiom. I can buy twice as many Easton XX75 as Firebolts. Are carbon's twice as good? What do I gain or lose? Accuracy? Durability? Or is it just marketing?

Sound suppression on Axiom

In my research, I have decided the Dissipator Bar Kit is not very effective in suppressing sound but the S-5 dampeners are. Then I heard that I should forget trying to suppress the sound and just shoot it, that nothing would reduce the sound enough to do any good. What say you guys with a lot of exp...

Excalibur Bolts

I un-packed the Axiom I got last winter and discovered everything was fine and I am happy. But the bolts are different from my first Axiom Package. The are Easton RAZER xx75 2219 instead of Firebolts. Will they make good practice bolts or should I ditch them and get Graphite Firebolts to match what ...

Re: Turkey day molested by the lady warden

AND THEY WONDER WHY WE ARE LOSING HUNTERS

You would think those that owe their jobs to the hunters would be helpful rather than looking for the "cheap" pinch!

Models using the same string and bolt

Do the following models use the same string and bolts? Phoenix, Ibex, Axiom, Eclipse, Exocet, Vortex, Exomax and Equinox? The Matrix line is different???? How many different string length/style and bolt size does Excalibur use? Is there an easy way to tell?

Thanks,

Bill

Re: OK, I Missed But Why

Thanks for the replies. I re-enacted the shot and everything was right, hit dead center in 3 inch bull with both the Spitfire and the field point. Doesn't appear that the hard rest had any effect, because I tried it both ways. HOWEVER, it was suggested that resting the bow on the wooden rail of tree...

Re: OK, I Missed But Why

I compared my Spitfire's and the field points, same at all ranges. I doubt if it was my technique, I duplicated the situation and hit the target dead center with both Spitfire and field point. Breathing and etc, doubt it. I have been hunting with an Encore Pistol in 7mmX444 for years and taken deer ...

OK, I Missed But Why

I am an old hunter but a new xbow hunter. I practiced and am pretty sure of myself. I am shooting a xbow at over 300fps......I can't see the arrow in flight. I hunt out of a tree house and have yard markers. I am sure they are right but am going to check again. I have limited myself to 40 yards and ...

Light for tracking in the dark

I guess an LED flashlight is the thing to use. Prices are from $3.00 to $103.00. Anybody found a reliable, reasonably priced one? What features do I look for? Do I want one that uses AA or AAA's or a rechargeable.

Trouble cocking the Axiom

We were shooting my Axiom yesterday and none of the women, not girls, could cock it with the cocking rope. They just weren't tall enough and/or strong enough to get that last inch or two. They used the crank and had a blast shooting it. The guys had no trouble, even the short ones. What were they do...
