Re: Arrow Spinning

Thanks, I like the simplicity. Is there something attached to the 'nock' end of the arrow?

Arrow Spinning

As has been suggested to under other posts. How do I 'spin' an arrow to check for trueness of both shaft AND shaft to tip for wobble?
Is there a device?

Thanks

Re: X-Act Mechanical Broadhead

Thanks to all of you for your input. I'm thinking that if I use the 100 grain X-act mechanical , that the point of impact will be the same as a 100 grain field tip. Would I be correct in assuming this? That way there would be no need to actually practice with the obviously more expensive X-Act mecha...

X-Act Mechanical Broadhead

Hi everyone, I am a bit new to this forum and to X-bow hunting and I am looking for some info please. I have a Phoenix X-bow and am looking for a hunting tip that works well with my 20" carbon Firebolt arrows. I am now using the Wasp 100 grain fixed broadhead but I am not pleased with the group...

This is an area where vertical bows have an advantage over crossbows. The ability to quickly and quietly get a follow-up shot. Second shots are more common than many archers would like to admit. I once killed a deer with a 2nd shot from my crossbow while in a treestand. On another occasion I was ab...

I can relate to you! Later on in the season when muzzleloaders are allowed, I have seen way too many people walking around in the woods in an area where only I have permission to hunt on my friends farm. I've seen everything from a woman walking her two dogs to another man hunting illegally with a r...

It was a good idea to practice cocking your xbow in your treestand and under normal hunting conditions etc, Last year I took a shot with my xbow and missed as the string hit the tip of my glove. The buck barely moved and did not really spook. I had another shot but the only problem was that I couldn...

I hear you load and clear! I have a couple of friends that always say " yeah, we'll organize a hunting trip", but when I do all the work to set things up, there's always some reason why they cannot go! Now, I plan and organize my own hunting outings because it seems that I can only rely on...

Congrats on your first deer! I too am self taught through forums and other form of media. I got my first deer (Doe) but never recovered it as I made the rookie mistake of getting out of my treestand too early and not let the Doe succumb to it's injury. I spooked it and the next thing I knew , it was...

I used a Phoenix X-bow, Excalibur firebolt, 100 grain Wasp fixed 3 blade broadhead. The shot was textbook! Hit a big Doe broadside at 20 yards through the lung, arrow went 1/3 the way in. It jumped straight up and came crashing down. It then recovered, ran and fell down about three times to rest abo...
