Spring crossbow hunt
My Dad took my brother to San Marcos area for free range exotics. There are Axis and Blackbuck in the area. I tried to do the right thing and go support my friends on the school soccer team for the State Championship game. It’s the first time the team even made the playoffs. I’ve always wanted a bla...

I used to change all different things about arrows that changed the weight. Mostly with my vertical bow but still weight differences of over 200 grains. What I learned was 2 things. There is no guarantee. I hit shoulder and there arrow shaft broke outside the deer. I think the front slowed down or s...

Do you hunt other animals? Could be a good woodcock or rabbit spot next year.

Re: 2022 Hunting season
I will wait for the size/ class bucks I want and pass on anything smaller. That paid off this year. I used to shoot anything decent.

Nice one Mr. Don! At -5 I’d shoot the first buck I see! My deer hunt was about 85 degrees. Very cool snow there!

Christmas Deer
We dropped off food for the staff at the ICU in the hospital. One lady asked for some deer meat. Right after dinner my brother and I went out for the last 40 minutes of light. We saw a big buck but we weren’t sure if it was bigger than what we already took, and after all we were meat hunting. A few ...

Broke up a buck fight
Right after dark in front of our property there was a commotion of rattling and huffing. Two bucks were locked up! We charged in on one and grabbed a back leg each. We pulled and twisted and they came loose. Both ran off and then a third even bigger buck began chasing both of them! It was really awe...

He stayed there and called. He said He heard it go down. My Dad and I followed blood and bumped it. We...
