Re: slugged arrows
A CE 4000 shaft fits perfectly inside 2219. Using a 100gr brass insert inside the 4000 shaft, blazer 2" vanes and plastic nocks total weight on 20" arrow with 100gr broadheads is 700 grn. A GT 55/75 will also work but is not as snug a fit as the CE. What bow are you going to shoot this ou...

slugged arrows
I'm interested in taking an XX75 shaft (either 2216 or ideally 2219) and slugging the whole shaft with a carbon shaft that fits tightly inside. The goal is to make the arrow as stiff as possible while keeping the final 18" arrow lighter than say, 750 grains. I've read posts by Vixenmaster about...

Re: Aluminium bolt nocks.
No need to apologize! :) I bought a package of the PDP flat nocks because the price was very attractive, and I wanted to see what they were like. They ended up being heavier than I hoped, so didn't use them. I've been using the press-fit flat plastic nocks from Easton instead. I *think* they're 9 gr...

Re: Aluminium bolt nocks.
I'm not sure we're all talking about the same things, but here's what I ordered a couple months ago: http://www.bowhunterssuperstore.com/2219-crossbow-bolt-ends-p-2358.html They are not inserts. See pics. ~E https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/u5XsFrXwVSVeZBZGpMvP88i0T7p7ect7XBEPxdT_0fDoob1pM0Ift2tv94...

Re: Head to Head MICRO 335 vs MICRO 355 chrony
Yep the GenI's are the ones to have. With that said, my 355 is now a real bear! It's shooting my 389 big John arrows with a Flemish string faster than it was shooting a 350 with stock string before the limb swap But you're still using the GenII riser on your Micro 355, right? Are you saying you put...

Re: Arrow drop scope question
The individual subtensions of the reticle aren't adjustable. Manufacturers are making assumptions about how to space out those subtensions when they design the scope, and those marks may not all align correctly for your particular setup at various yardages. My technique has been to sight in at 20 ya...

Re: Head to Head MICRO 335 vs MICRO 355 chrony
Here is an interesting update for anyone that cares. I swapped out he limbs on my 355 last night. Noticed immediately that it is hard to cock now. Tonight I just fired a consistent round of shot at 365fps. 366(first shot), 364.7, 365.1, 364.8. and continuing. So with a limb swap I just gained 20-21...

Re: Exomag
Decent digital grain scales are less than $30- seems like a good investment. Definitely do not shoot it with an underweight arrow.
Good luck,

Re: Which Excalibur for me?
Regarding the string- when it comes to rail lube and string wax, I've found that less is more. Yes, keep the rail clean, and for that I use a generic silicone spray, sprayed into a rag and then wipe the rail down with it. I make sure it's all wiped dry before cocking and shooting the crossbow again....

If I'd have been standing there I'd have offered to take that piece of junk off his hands for a hundred bucks. Might have gotten a sweet deal on a 405!

Re: String problem or limb problem??
You needn't worry about a warranty; Excalibur has the best warranty in the business. If your limbs are bad, you'll get new ones. There's a post towards the top of the forum ( http://excaliburcrossbow.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=58563 )... it gives step by step instructions for filing a warran...

Re: String problem or limb problem??
That doesn't sound good; could be a limb issue. Any chance you could put up a picture somewhere and post the link to it?

Re: 2016 Micro 355 Question
It's my understanding that the Micro 315 rail is the same length as the gen1 Micro 335 rail. (Is that correct?) Can anyone tell me the length of the gen2 Micro 335 rail compared to the gen1 Micro 335 rail? Obviously it must be a bit longer... a half inch?
Thanks,

Personally, I'd give Danny Miller at Horizontal Archery a call. You can easily look the number up with a web search.

Re: Can't emphasize enough...Locktite locktite locktite
I've said it before and I'll say it again here now: In most cases, Loctite is a band-aid for poor design. I'd rather see a design where a nylock nut was used instead. It won't vibrate loose, and you won't get threads stripping out of aluminum, either.
