Re: Best lighted reticle scope for my Matrix 380

Hawke XB30

Dave at Wyverns had the old model at reduced price a few months ago, $129?. Give him a call to see if he still has any left.

I actually like the crosshairs without the red or green light, however, if you need that feature, this scope is fantastic for that.

Re: Best way to keep warm feet

Lacrosse or any other brand rubber boots that are 2000 grams. Make sure the boots are not super tight - at least a half size too big is better. Merino wool socks. On top of the socks put the 10 hour handwarmer packs by your toes and then put a layer of thin socks over the heat pack on each foot to h...

Re: Whitetails are remarkable "machines"

Yes, deer are incredibly tough and no two shot instances are alike.

Anyone that blames equipment, especially broad heads, after deer travel a long distance, should make sure to read about your experience.

Re: Mechanical Heads

Tom - excellent post - No matter what is used; even after what is thought to be a perfect hit there is always the chance, albeit an extremely small one, that the deer will not be recovered, That goes for rifle, shotgun, muzzle loader, compound bows, crossbows, everything. In the bow hunting realm it...

Re: Rage fail!!!

Wabi wrote -put a good quality ... Where it should go and the blood trail will be short.

The key part of the equation is the "where it should go part"

Shot placement is the key.

Re: Cocking cb with safety on

O.K. - I tried again and it would not cock with the safety on.

Must have been half asleep when I cocked my crossbow at my treestand at 6 a.m and put the safety on without remembering that I did it.

Sorry for the false alarm.

Re: Rage fail!!!

If you did not have a lower entrance hole, the blood in the cavity will not flow out. Meant to say exit hole. In any event - the point is - there is no predicting what will happen when you hit a deer with an arrow, each time is a completely independent event. I have seen a friend shoot a deer with a...

Re: Rage fail!!!

Maybe the blades folded back when the bolt was pulled out by the deer. If the shot hit high and only went through one lung, a deer can go a long way before going down. Deer are incredibly tough and each hit on a deer is not a duplicate of a previous shot result. So there is no predicting what will h...
