Re: Matrix 330

Forgot to add - the 100 grain slick tricks are good. Also Walmart sells for less than $15 per 3, the 100 grain 4 blade 1" Carbon Express fixed broadheads. They look good and have gotten good reviews in the research that I have done.

Re: Matrix 330

When I ordered mine from Wyvern Creations, David suggested the Laser II Gold Tip Arrows with 100 grain field tips and broad heads. They have the small blazer fletchings. I have practiced out to 50 yards and they are dead on.

You can call him or email him, he is very helpful.

Re: Lets talk about camouflage patterns.

A lighter open pattern is what I prefer. I have many different ones. Some of the darker patterns that are less open will make you stand out like a blob. I agree with previous post that green/brown camo is more to hide you from other hunters. If you were only trying to hide from deer; you would wear ...

Re: Question on C2 cocking aid

Talked to a friend this morning. He was in Bass Pro a few weeks ago and tried out one of the crank cocking devices there on a compound crossbow. It was his first time trying it and not knowing what he was doing, he went way overboard and overcocked it, plus he is a real strong guy and the rope broke...

Re: Question on C2 cocking aid

So if I look at the trigger at the point that the string latches, I will be able to see the trigger move?

Re: Question on C2 cocking aid

Yes, I am extremely careful. I may use the antireverse lever at some point after I get comfortable with knowing the point at which the string is cocked. Without hearing it, I am afraid of overcocking, i.e., putting too much tension on the C2 and then it is difficult to take the antireverse off since...

Re: Next step - mounting scope - ring recommendation

Yes - I am very thankful for all the advice that was received on this forum. Also, it was good for me to actually go through all the steps involved in setting up the crossbow and scope and making the adjustments to the string/brace height instead of just picking up one in a store and thinking I was ...

Re: Next step - mounting scope - ring recommendation

Yesterday I got the scope rings and mounted them. Vortex Viper 30 MM Low Height rings. Super easy to mount and they look super strong and stable. Since they are low mounts, when I bring the crossbow up the scope is right where it should be and I can see through it immediately. Something to consider ...

Re: Question on C2 cocking aid

Finally got my scope mounted and started the sighting in process which involved actually pulling the string back instead of the stringing aid. I leave the antireverse clicker off on the C2 and I can now hear the point where the string is engaged. I also marked the side of the rail with a sharpie to ...

Re: Question on C2 cocking aid

Thanks

So I take it that there is no way that the crossbow can be over cocked?

Also is there a magnified diagram available to see what it looks like when the string is engaged and ready to fire. I would just like to know in detail so I can visualize this process.

Question on C2 cocking aid

OK - another question as I move along the learning curve. I used the C2 cocking aid to pull the stringing aid back several times and with the antireverse latch on and clicking I couldn't hear the string engage at the top one time; so I basically overcocked the bow so the C2 rope was so tight that it...

Next step - mounting scope - ring recommendation

I got the Hawke XB30 scope for my Matrix. Beautiful scope, replaced the battery and the crosshairs light up beautifully in red or green. There was a rail that the scope was mounted on with rings built in. The rail could be mounted on top of the excalibur rail, however it would cause it to be higher ...

Re: Help with stringing aid

Success!!

Thanks so much for the advice.

There is a lot of stretch in the stringing aid, so I shortened it up another inch or so to compensate for the stretch and I was then able to deal with the string as easily as it was done in the video.

Hopefully someone else can benefit from my learning.

Help with stringing aid

Just recently got back from vacation and got a chance to start putting together the Matrix 330 that I got from Wyvern. I watched the video and read the manual, however, I am having difficulty with getting the string loop back on after I take one end of the string off to make adjustments. I believe t...
