Re: Fletching problem
I bought a new tube of platinum this spring. I just talked to Jerry at Southside archery and ordered some primer and glue from him. I never heard of using a primer until the response from Jody last night. Oh, that I might have a tube of the original Fletch-tite! Why do mfg have to take a good produc...

Re: Fletching problem
Thanks for the tips Jody. What do you mean for primer on the vanes?
What it denatured alcohol and where can I get it? I've been fletching aluminum since the old autumn orange shafts and never had any real problems until Fletch-tite was discontinued.

Fletching problem
Ever since Bohning quit making fletch-tite, I've had problems getting blazers to stick to aluminum shafts using the Platinum. I just fletched some up some using the blue-top Gorilla glue and same thing. I've lightly sanded the shafts, cleaned them with acetone as well as laquer thinner and same thin...

Re: Cats Back!
I have a friend who lives in Montana. When I asked him what could be done regarding their wolf problem, his answer was "shoot, shovel and shut-up." Might work, but I'd want a little more than a 22!

Re: What's your age ?
I feel really blessed! Since 1997 I've had north of 15 surgeries including quintuple bypass and prostate removal because of cancer. However, I didn't miss much if any hunting because of them. I could use a new knee, but am holding off as long as I can still get er done. Got 2 bucks last year and got...

Re: We have a member in the hospital
I just talked to Wes and he sounded real well. He said that he would feel better if he didn"t have to take all their "damn drugs". He seemed to appreciate the fact that I also had quintuple bypass surgery 7 years ago and that it has allowed me to do as much, if not more, than most oth...

Re: Axiom SMF upgrades
Welcome! You've got a great crossbow. In my opinion, the single greatest
improvement that you can make to an excalibur, is adding a Boo string
with cat whiskers. It does a great job of eliminating some of the noise
and vibration.

Re: Axiom problem help please.
I had a similar problem last year with my Vixen. I was ready to send it to Danny Miller. It was kinda embarrassing , but I found that when I replaced the screws that hold the scope mount, the screws were (very, very slightly) longer and they were locking the jaws of the trigger. If you changed these ...

Re: Boots
I have both the Lacrosse Alpha Burleys and Muck Boot Woody Max. I much prefer the Muck boots. They're lighter, more comfortable and much easier to take off. They are also much warmer. I have 2 pair of pa ck boots which I haven't worn since getting the Woody Max. If it's exceptionally cold, I just ad...

Re: 2116 aluminum insert vs 2117 brass insert in the wind
Nice Shooting!! Where did you get the brass inserts for aluminum? I use wooden and or aluminum slugs in 2213, but the brass would save a ton of time. Thanks for the post.

Re: Economical Broadheads
X2 on the Wasp sst 125 gr hammers. They shoot with my fieldpoints out to 40 yds. I've tried alot of broaddheads and they suit me best. The secret to any broadhead is to be sure that it spins true. This is one reason why I stick with aluminum shafts. You can heat them and twist the insert and get the...

Re: Muck Boots
Another happy owner. I've always had a problem with cold feet. Since I've been wearing the Mucks, my pac boots have been collecting dust. I wear them with a liner and a mid-wgt sock. If its real cold I just add some chemical toe warmers. They're also easy to get off at the end of the day. You're gon...
