Re: STEAMBOW.COM
1. Cool idea. If I had invented it, I'd be proud of how clever I was. 2. Quite gimmicky. It takes the wonderfully simple technology of a recurve crossbow and adds complexity for no apparent reason. It departs, anyway, from one of the main reasons I'm drawn to crossbows in general, and recurves speci...

Re: Recommend Me A Reliable 100gr Expandable
How far do your deer typically run now? I would not expect an expandable like you are talking about to do anything to blood trail length. Put it through both lungs (with about anything) and it should not go far. 50 to 70 yds maybe. If you are hunting froma tree, make real sure to get 2 lungs and no...

Re: I got some screws loose...
Now I'm lost ! Lol Ignore me. I couldn't resist an opportunity to be oblique. As you were. Actually, I had the reference wrong anyway. It's from Hamlet, not Macbeth. "To be, or not to be, that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortun...

Re: I got some screws loose...
Usually the saying " fling arrows" makes me cringe. I understand your are practicing for hunting. But more often than not , I've seen that saying used for a hunting conversation. Like 15 shots at antelope before a kill. Seriously! ? Dude admited to flinging arrows at animals out to 90 yrd...

Re: I got some screws loose...
Strange that both bows would have the same problem at the same time. Sounds like gremlins to me. I've been chasing my tail on an accuracy issue lately myself. Checked all my screws, but the only loose one is in my head, apparently. My Micro 335 seems fine, but my Matrix 330 has thrown some r...

Re: excal 308
Larry, Haven’t harvested any thing yet with the 308, but I thought I would use the Vixen for hunting the first month of the crossbow season, “Not”! I only used the Vixen for one hunt and 308 is the go to crossbow... I like the size, weight, and its accurate too! I am sure there will be Harvest and ...

Re: Question for arrow enthusiasts
If this is happening to all you arrows I think you have a buildup of glue on that clip . you can remove the excess glue by soaking the jig in acetone for an hour or so . try to put the glue on the vane and then put in the clip . this will reduce the buildup on the jig . W.M. Thanks for the advice! ...

[/quote] ....When I first started making arras and using BLAZERS I made a good bunch like that....now that I have moved up to the Silent Knight SK-200's I have never had that problem....back to your arra....when i was off like you I did not know any difference in flight....i can say I enjoyed the ar...

Re: Question for arrow enthusiasts
Actually, I'd redo them either way but that's just me. It's not that they wouldn't be accurate. It's that they wouldn't be consistent with the other arrows. One more thing to figure out is all I'm not a fan of sloppy work, so I will probably redo it eventually. When there's time I will test it thou...

Question for arrow enthusiasts
Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've re-fletched an arrow, and I had forgotten the finesse of getting 2" Blazers to line up North-South in my Arizona EZ Fletch. Long story short, the 3 vanes on one arra are now somewhat staggered in height. Is it critical I cut and re-glue them, or is some...

Re: My new DIY Shooting stick
Excellent redneck engineering! I used part of aluminum crutches to fabricate transducer mounts for 2 boats, works perfect, wonder how many other things can be made out of them. I made a chop saw stand out of a walker. I made a long distance measuring device by attaching a bike tire to a crutch and ...

Re: My new DIY Shooting stick
Adjustable even. Look out ground blind, here we come! Already used it to great success! One adjustment I'll be making is turning it from a quadrupod to a tripod for better stability. I need to cut two welds, do some bending, make a small weld, et voila! It can adjust from table height to ...
