My son and I have taken our fair share of deer .We hunt on public land mostly. None of our deer are on the wall, but they are all trophys to us. We do get razzed by some people, when we bring in a doe or small buck. But thats their problem ,they just don't get it , or they watch to many hunting show...

I use a Black Hole target for broad heads .And burlap bags with rags in them for field tips. I have 4 small ones about the size of a gallon jug ,then I toss them around the back yard ,rangefind them and shoot. I think it makes for good hunting practice.

I'm very new to this forum ,but I've been reading it a long time and one of the reasons I joined is because of the nice things Griz and other members do for each other .It's a shame we forget there is a real live person on the other side of the screen!

The Axiom, last years model, has an aluminum rail ,the new one has a composite rail. I have the aluminum one and my brother in law has the SMF they both shoot great ! only he paid $1oo less for his.

I've hunted out of tree stands for years .Climbers, hangers ,ladders Now my wife would like it if I stayed on the ground more .So my pop-up has worked ok the last few years .With this being my first season with the X-Cal ,I hope to get off my shots a bit easier, I don't have alot of room in my blinds.

Shaffern, It should work .I mounted a 1'' pc. of black delrin with a hole in it to the bottom half of a weaver mount .It goes on and off the rail with out losing zero.

How about a 3" finger knife used for caping .Old timer use to make one ,now I think they are made in China. Not worth the $ now.
