Re: Zwickey Black Diamond broadheads
Dating myself a little bit, but I bought an Exocet back ln 1994. For the first five years I owned that bow I shot nothing but eskimo's for hunting. They always performed and flew well as long as you orient the blades horizontally. Now my favorite head is a RMSG Cutthroat single bevel. A much more d...

Re: Can't break the heat
Nobody likes to hunt in the heat...but we don't all live in Canada. Can't apply your Canadian logic to Texas (or North Carolina) hunting. As far as meat spoilage goes almost no difference between 85 and 65.

Re: Can't break the heat
You are OK to hunt in that heat. You surely can't leave it overnight, but the key is to keep the body temp falling. A deer's body temp is around 101 degrees, so even at 85 it will start cooling. Find it, gut it, skin it and get it in a cooler or refrigerator within a reasonable time and the meat wil...

Re: Zwickey Black Diamond broadheads
I tried a similar Grizzly last year. They are just really long and will stick out past the stirrup with most arrows. I'm not a fan of that and it was a pain to hunt with because of that. If I cut my arrows down it would work, but IMO there are way better BHs than a Zwickey, Compare it to something l...

Re: broadheads
I had a good trail Saturday with the 3 blade VPA.....no doubt because it was "surgically sharp" vs plain ol sharp.longbow joe wrote: ↑Tue Oct 11, 2022 6:04 pmNorm...what can you say some people just enjoy looking on their hands n knees for blood... be respectful and let them "crawl" if they want.

Re: broadheads
Fix it all and just shoot a fixed head. :D Which fixed blade? I like a heavy 1 piece construction that will sustain no damage if a bone is struck accidentally. There are many good ones. I am shooting 200 gr VPA 2 blade single bevels and VPA 200gr 3 blade 1 1/14" non vented. Other good heads To...

Great job! Congrats on #1. They never seem to run towards the truck for some reason, though.

Re: Finally got it done....
Congrats on your deer. Years ago I bought a cheap dent puller found a bolt that fit drilled and tapped the head and with 2 or 3 pops on the slide heads come right out . I usud to salvage lots of field points at the range stuck in wood frames. Was looking at cheap dent puller yesterday online. Great...

Finally got it done....
I buddy who I never hunted with before invited me to his hunting property this weekend. Very gracious of him. He has a nice piece of property to hunt with a few feeders and stands and has been fighting with a bear that is tearing up the feeders. So we loaded up the truck at 4:10AM and headed out for...

Re: Do they still make
I don't use them because they can bend....and you never know until you shoot it if it is bent as they bend on target impact or by pulling them out of the target wrong. SO you take that last shot and hit the bullseye, then go hunting and aren't sure it didn't bend on that last impact. Carbons are str...
