Re: Boofest 2018 pics
Funny, somehow Anthony doesn’t look like Anthony without that 4-inch diameter cigar!

Re: BooFest Thank You
Anyone who hasn’t been to Boofest needs to do whatever it takes to go at least once! This year was my first time and I was blown away by how great this event is! I expected it to be nice, (obviously, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone), but I figured it’d be one of those things where after 4 hours or s...

Re: Who would like to see Peter Balfour, Bill and Kathy at Boofest?
I appreciate the offer, but if I go Boofest would be only one of several places I'd be visiting, including Quebec City, Ft. Ticonderoga, and Dixon Muzzleloading Fair the following weekend.

Just meeting the Troubridges would make this event worth going to! It's got me seriously considering it. It's just such a long haul from Carolina though...

Re: years of manufacture for excal bows?
There should be others on this Forum more knowledgeable on this topic than I, but since no one else has replied, I think that before the Vixen/Exocet/Exomag line-up in the late-90's, there was just the Wolverine.

Re: guys whats the normal kill time or distance travelled after hits?
I've killed about forty deer with my Exocet over the years, using a variety of broadheads but primarily the Rocket Hammerhead 2-inch expandables. I'd say the average double-lung death-run is 50-70 yards. They can definitely go longer on heart shots and liver shots though, although often they won't i...

Dang Nog, you're either an incredibly lucky guy or one helluva a marksman! I doubt one person in a million could nail a charging wolverine between the eyes with a pistol! Or even hit it at all!
Pretty cool!

200 grain Centaur Battleaxe heads (2.25" cut). Fletch helical with Blazers, like previous post said, and they fly true to my field points out to 40 yards. Leave massive blood trails.

Re: How much cutting diameter makes a differnce?
I've killed about forty deer with my 175lb Exocet over the years, with a variety of fixed and mechanical heads. There is no perfect Broadhead, but based on my experience the larger the cutting diameter most definitely the shorter blood trail. And the newer crossbows are so powerful that you'll get a...

Re: Past Excalibur Models
The crossbows made when the Troubridges owned the company were bomb-proof. I can't imagine you ever needing replacement parts. My Exocet is 17 years old, has taken at least 50 deer, and is as good as new.

Re: Questions for any hunter here in NC
That bobcat is big! I had a big one like that creep up a dry creek bed in the Uwharries on opening day of Blackpowder Season one year. I was sitting above the creek bank under a holly tree with my flintlock smoothbore. He got within 15 yards before catching my scent! Then he just turned around and s...

Re: Questions for any hunter here in NC
I think deer are smarter than we give them credit for. I've seen some deer behavior that convinced me they actually have some capacity to reason. I think they quickly know when they're being hunted, and go nocturnal. That lasts until the Rut, when Mother Nature pumps them so full of sex hormones tha...
