Re: 1st Scouting Trip
That's a beautiful snake. I once went to my friend's house and a 16ft boa was coiled on the floor next to the couch. She said it just ate and would be content. It never moved.

Re: OT: Flint Knapping Art
I have been teaching myself the art of flint knapping for several years. Mounted one of my heads on a homemade wooden arrow and tested it on a dense foam target 7in. penetration. My ultimate goal is to harvest a deer my homemade hickory bow and flint head arrow .

Re: 1 yote down
They killed the farmers chickens a goose and tore up the neighbor's dog. I've shot 7 with a compound bow and 2 with crossbow its tricky but it can be done. The war is on.

1 yote down
Sat my ground blind tonight and watched a coyote hunt for 20 minutes finally turned broadside at 40yds my 350se put aboltcutter through his chest. The farmer says he's seen 7 of them this fall. Not much deer sign. I need to get rid of the yotes.

My son sent me a video of he and his friends barbecuing them and eating them with garlic butter. Said they were delicious.

Re: O/T Masters of the Barebow
My first real bow was a bear recurve I bought in 68 . I shot compounds for a while and then bought a longbow. Shot instinctive and got pretty accurate. Shot deer squirrel and rabbit and 3D tournaments. I am fascinated by all the different styles of bows designed by different cultures. Now I make bow...

Re: Coyote off the Couch
Nice job. My first kill with my excalibur was a coyote at 15yds taken another 7 with compound many more close opportunities but they seldom stop moving long enough for a shot. 1 with 223 in my yard

Wack a couple pythons while you're there. Looks like there's tons of them.

Re: My Next Toy
Recurve or longbow I love the sound of a well released arrow. After shooting both as well as compounds I decided to see how difficult it is to make an efficient all wood bow. I know have 16 bows of oak maple ipe bamboo and hickory. My 66in hickory longbow at 55lb is my favorite with a homemade arrow...

Re: Last bow hunt of the season for me
Doc says my broken vertebrae have mended but still have a torn rotator cuff to deal with. Been getting out about once a week. Still sore but tired of sitting around watching TV. Had forkhorn and 26 turkeys walk past this afternoon. Tough getting to the stands but I've got to keep trying.

Used to be a warden in Ogle county that was a real prick. Tried every trick in the book to catch us doing wrong never did. The state is so much in debt know they'll do anything for money..

Re: The rut is close
Hunted this afternoon at 4:10 saw a forkhorn cruising a half hour later 2 coyotes came by but saw me just before I could shoot and bolted. 5:00 I saw 3 does and a 10 point following them. About 100yds away no shot but nice to see. Not much activity on the cameras.
