Times up what do you do?

I'm sure we've all been there. Your in your stand at last light or later and you have deer around. You can't or don't want to shoot. How is it that you make your exit? Do you wait them out and hope they move along? This is something for the most part that works well for me. I'll take an extra rope t...

Mature Buck/Matriarch Doe?

I seen this posted on another site. Which do you think?

Which is more difficult to harvest-a mature buck defined
as 4 years or older, or a matriarch doe of at least the same
age and she leads a family unit of at least 3 generations?

Re: Hooyman Saws

Mike, I'm going to order the 10 ft. saw soon. Bowhunters International (Superstore) has the best prices I've found. $64.95 for the 10 ft. and $39.95 for the 5 ft. At least $20 to $25 cheaper than everyone else so far. I'm thinking the 10 footer is the way to go! Comes with a 5 footer

Hooyman Saws

Just wonder if anyone has used one of these saws?
Thinking of replacing the traditional pole saw.
Looks to be great for setting up stands.

Re: Time after shot

The amount of blood left from the point of impact is what I go by. We've all heard or seen game that's been hit in the heart and were amazed at how far they went before falling. I'm thinking it's the lack of blood to the brain is what stops them. Their dead they just don't know it. More blood the mo...

Re: Michigan baiting ban lifted

Hunting over bait piles is effective but what I have found is that
allot of deer hang up until last light. So after I figure out where
their coming in from, I'll set up a stand and try to get them before
they get hung up. I have shot my share of deer that way!

Michigan baiting ban lifted

Michigan lifted their ban on baiting yesterday in lower part of the state. Limited to 2 gallons spread over a ten foot area. Just wondering what everyone thinks of hunting over bait? Does it make you less of a hunter? I don't have a problem with it. I think it eliminates allot of poor and unethical ...

Re: Where do we draw the line?

Yes, you definitely have to feel bad for the young man! I guarantee he will remember that day for ever and he will have learned a life lession. That is to let his son or daughter make the choice on whether or not to harvest that animal. Big or small, buck or doe. I wouldn't be surprised if his fathe...

Re: Shipping Abroad

How big of an envelope does it take to ship a broad? j/k one of those days :) The word "archery" makes all the difference. Scott, you are lucky that US Customs actually opened the package and saw it was not a firearm part! Of course Sumner would have some more fun if it went that way! :sh...

Shipping Abroad

If this topic has been touched upon before, I apologize! With allot of new members joining this might be good to bring up! I had asked this gentleman to do some work on my trigger and he agreed. I believe we know who I'm referring to. When I was filling out the form to have the trigger ship and insu...
