Re: Irradic Shooting
Strange. I had the same problem this wknd w/my Phoenix w/Varizone. i agree w/ what all these helpful members are saying.Wabi and j.Krug bring up 2 VERY IMPORTANT points, both of which helped solve this problem for me. Make sure you are using a long gun type rest which supports both stock and fore en...

Re: Scope/no scope
My first Excal was Phoenix w/Lite stuff pkg. from a dealer. So it came w/Varizone scope on it. I love the scope but decided I needed another Excal. Got an exocet 200 Bow only off E-bay for a really good price. My plan was to swap accessories (sling, quiver, bolts) when I want to hunt w/ that bow. Then ...

Re: Florida Bear
WC I dont know much about black bear either but those last few pics look like some descent sized bruins, judging by the head to ear comparison. also the low belly. Im from north west jersey and we too have too many bear for the area. we do have a season for them for now.(during six day firearm deer ...

Re: Scent eliminating sprays... Do they work?
Dash, Dont know what you hunt down under, but when it comes to deer , i've tried them all and I still don't know if they really work. I still use them but dont rely totally on them. I tend to lean more towards Masking scent sprays, like Wildlife Research fall blend. Or a fresh earth spray. And also ...

Re: unloading my excals
Point well taken Wabi. I guess its kinda like Murphy's law! I think i will do it anyway and try to pay attention to detail and use caution. Of course having a small discharge bag @ the end of the hunt for those times when conditions are not perfect like snow, rain, freezing cold, would cut down the c...

Re: Which One??? Equinox or Vortex and why?
John, in my opinion, you cant go wrong w/ any model excal. They are the best by far. I am new to this also. My first was the Phoenix.Love it,still have it.then I decided I needed more power so i bought the Vortex.Great bow also but I soon realized that I could not get used to the thumbhole stock. I ...

unloading my excals
Does anyone un-cock their excals w/their rope cocking aid after hunting instead of discharging into a target bag? I have a Phoenix and Exocet 200. I am new to this but have used my stringing aid to replace, change, and adjust brace ht. several times. have watched the inst. video on this and am comfo...

Vortex Crossbow
After 10 shots or so the riser starts to seperate from the mainframe to about 1/16 of an inch. Is this a problem? Is this normal w/the 200lb. + crossbows? Has anyone noticed this on their crossbows?
