Re: goose hunting
I don't have a shotgun. Ok...I do have one, a Winchester M59 with a fiberglass barrel but I can't use it with steel shot. There are a lot of geese in my area and the hunting is done more often on land than on water. Information on using a crossbow for geese is rare and I sure could use a lot of info...

Re: Have Never Experienced a Forum Like This
I have been here for a while now and one thing that I have noticed is the quality of the english is very good. This means that the quality of the intelligence is also very good. When you get intelligent people who all like the same subject (crossbows in this case), there are few arguments and few mi...

Re: Lumenock
I would just love to order lumenoks but I keep seeing things concerning internal diameters, adding screws to the lumenoks, and all other sorts of things that are discussed that make me think that I do not have the expertise to choose and install the damned things.

Re: Crossbow backpack
I contacted the company by e-mail and then by telephone.....I really wanted to make sure that they got my order before the company ran out of backpacks. Shipping was 22.10 . It took less than a week to get my backpack. There is the light version of the backpack (no pockets) for 30 dollars but I can'...

Crossbow backpack
I just got my crossbow backpack today. Ok...it's not the Excalibur model but the one sold by Bohning for 50 dollars. Identical to the Excalibur version from the looks of things.

Re: How long after?
Thanks for the answers. One answer was from a person who had a bypass operation.
From what I have read, I will be cocking my crossbow for moose hunting next september.

How long after?
I had a triple bypass operation 2 weeks ago. Can someone tell me how long it takes before I am strong (and pain free) enough to be able to cock my Vortex (200 lbs)?

Re: Lets talk about camouflage patterns.
Here where I hunt in Quebec, I have yet to find a camo colour that imitates the natural surrounding woods. Up here, spruce is king but the green part is up off the ground. The best colour would be dark grey mingled with dark green, medium brown and some medium green. The patterns must be large too. ...

Re: Another dumb question!
The first thing I would do is make sure that you are always centering the string into the trigger assembly. I'm not very tall. I have to pull up my string quite a bit with my left arm before my cocking aid will hook onto the string. I then make sure that I center my string by pulling a bit with my r...

Re: ot cheap line counter reels
I much prefer a line counter that fits on my rod. Shakespeare makes the best one....in my opinion. They cost only about 15 dollars. They have an illuminated dial, the line automatically comes off the counter when you strike the fish and you can adjust the counter in order to use very fine line. But ...

Do you mean removing the rubber bumpers and grinding down the metal part that holds the rubber bumpers?Boo wrote:The STS rods should get cut down.

Re: STS string stops and 5S string stops
Wow....thanks for the answer. Yes.....I see that in the photos, the crossbow has STS string stoppers installed.....just like the ones I have on my crossbow. I will be keeping my STS string stoppers and will be giving the 5S string stoppers (by Excalibur) to my son for his Exomax. He really needs str...

Re: STS string stops and 5S string stops
By the word "better" I mean....last longer, more efficient at reducing noise and vibration, life of the rubber bumpers, availability of replacing the rubber bumpers and any other points that I do not know about yet. (I'm a newbie). I did get 2 other replacement rubber bumpers with the STS ...

STS string stops and 5S string stops
I bought 2 sets of string stops. One set for my Vortex and another set for my son's Exomax. I put the STS string stops on my Vortex. They fit real nice. They screw on from underneath the crossbow. The 5S string stops also fit real nice and screw on from over the top of the (riser?). The bumpers on t...
