Re: Deer Success

I really lucked out finding this spot. It is a natural funnel. While in the stand I've got a large creek behind me at 15 yards or so, very deep ravine to my right at 15 yards, steep hill in front of me at 20 yards and the river to my left at about 100 yards. From the looks of the beaten down trail t...

Re: Deer Success

The big buck didn't happen by this morning but I did get a button buck this morning for a friend of mine. He let's me hunt his property when I am not on the river. He prefers young and tender!!

The deer are moving quite a bit here in NE Oklahoma.

Deer Success

Both deer killed where I missed the doe last Thursday. Both deer killed today were shot about 20 yards apart. Got in my tree stand about 12:30. A little spike came by about 2:30pm. Exomax nailed him at 12 yards. Dressed him and took it to the boat ramp (20 minute trip one way) so my brother could pi...

Dental Band Force??

Dental bands come in (light force 2.5 oz., medium force 3.5 oz. or heavy force 4.5 oz.). Which should I use?

Deer Pic

First deer pic so far after a month of having the cameras out on the back side of my friend's place. https://i.imgur.com/3WlUMjO.jpg My Ground Blind is about 20 yards from the buck and has been out for about a month so they are used to it. The deer are starting to move around here as my friend has t...

Re: Havin several Excals Hangin in Stringroom

I only have one. It's an Exomax I bought used about 4 years ago. It's wide and heavy but I have gotten use to that and have grown to really like it. Have only taken one deer with it and that was last year. At first I was somewhat put off by how big it is but now it's a non-issue for me. Just took so...

Re: My homemade vanilla killer recipe

Hi, I plan on making some of this stuff. Do you have to use the pure vanilla and almond extract? I was at Costco last night and a Costco sized bottle of pure vanilla was $26. Haven't checked at our local Amish stores yet. All at WalMart Went to Walmart tonight and picked up what I needed to make th...

Spooked Deer Return

How soon after missing and spooking the deer do they return to the same area? I missed a big doe a couple of days ago. Hit a tree limb and sent the arrow off into the twilight zone. I did find it after a two hour search. Always look where it should not be first!! I'll go back Sunday morning and get ...

Re: Exomax "Major Screw Up"

I'll send it to Danny Miller after deer season. He told me it would be fine if I wanted to hunt with it. My first contact with Danny. I could tell right away he is the real deal and knows his stuff!!

Re: Looking to update my scope

I recently bought an Excalibur Twlight DLX scope. Only had it for about week or so but been shooting with it almost every day. I really like it so far but time in the field will be the real test.

It gathers a lot of light and is very clear as well.

Re: Exomax "Major Screw Up"

I did the same thing years ago with my Vortex. Was shooting at 10PM from my driveway into my garage as part of a string or serving test. Got my routine interrupted by my son and did a dry fire. Got a similar splinter and it had no ill effects. And I had a Flemish on it at the time. I'd say your goo...

Re: Exomax "Major Screw Up"

Sounds pretty lucky to me! :D Yes I was but the design and manufacturing process also played a role in preventing an injury and/or more damage to the bow. I'll never own a compound crossbow or use a Flemish string on the Exomax. If I am stupid enough to shoot my crossbow with no arrow in it I shoul...

Exomax "Major Screw Up"

No excuses!! I did a very dumb a?? thing while checking the zero on my Exomax. I shot it with no arrow in it!! Got in a hurry so I could get home to pack for the hunt. Whoops, I said no excuses!! It threw the string off hitting me in the face with no injuries. The bow looks ok but has a small splint...

Dissipator Bars

In my haste to get my new Twlight DLX mounted and zeroed I forgot to put the Dissipator pads back underneath the bars. Just remembered today when I noticed they were missing. Box shot fine and is accurate with the new scope. The missing pads won't affect my scopes zero will it? Installed them tonigh...
